Another character for the Death Valet universe, drawn by NDA; akin to Sakara X he's not a recurring character per se, not exactly a celebrity though; but a superhero with a long career.
In whose life, I decided to reflect more influence from two of my favorite comic books.
Simon Shima's mother died in childbirth, he and his brother were adopted by their aunt and uncle; growing up among a family of Japanese immigrants in the 1930s/1940s was no picnic by any stretch of the imagination...but it sure as hell beat growing up with his mad scientist father back in Japan.
During his teenage years in the 50s, Simon and his brother were kidnapped by their father (prior to becoming the supervillain Typhoon) during the early years of his by Nightfire Society (they didn't know he was their father at the time) to use his developed nanotechnology at the time, to 'reclaim them' from their family and use them as soldier-assassins in his science-weapon-manufacturing-cartel...it didn't go as planned and they escaped.
Simon's brother suggested they become superheroes (pretty much for kicks), and the skittish Simon agreed; taking names from Coney Island roller coasters, they had some modest success and made a bit of a splash...until a careless mistake of Thunderbolt's got him killed. Distraught with guilt at the death he could have stopped, Simon dedicated himself to continuing this with greater intensity and dedication than he previously had, growing over time into one of the more standout figures in the American superhero community; eventually becoming the subject of autobiographic movies and books, up until his death in the nineties fighting his archenemesis and father...as with many deceased historical figures and celebrities however, he came back from the dead in 2010 on R-Day.
In addition to the media influenced by his costumed career, Simon has been the influence for various noteworthy fictional characters; and so have some of the people in his life, including his brother.
Cyclone belongs to me.
