Vassago is a mighty demon prince of Hell, and maintains the highest ranking among of the noble princes (By comparison, Stolas is ranked 5 among the demon princes, while Vassago is 1). As a noble, Vassago has angelic origins---similar to Lucifer---thus implying he may very well have been some kind of angel at some point in the past. His relationship with Lucifer, however, seems to point to him being around far longer than his appearance suggests, giving the impression he is a fallen angel, like Lucifer, and may very well have 'fallen' along with the King of Hell---hence why Vassago has maintained his position as the highest ranking prince in Hell. While he has several hell-born in his employee (far more than usual for a prince), Vassago himself is a noble. As a demon prince with access to his own, unique Grimoire, Vassago is well versed in the many spells princes have access to---including portaling across Hell and access to the living world. His crystal fragments have myriad uses, which do include the ability to open and close any lock afforded to living, Hell, and possibly angelic locks. They can, of course, also be used as a weapon if need be, though the prince has other armaments at his disposal.

As for private matters such as that described, unlike the majority of demon princes, Vassago does not have imp servants in his employ, especially at his residence---he is surprisingly very self-sufficient for a noble. For that particular task, Vassago employs specific demonic spirits to assist in the two-person job who, unlike the regular spirits he tasks with guardian demonic vaults, are strangely more realized Hellborns from the various rings of Hell.
