David... was dead... when Susan got involved with a human... she hadn't realized his lifespan would be so short... a measly 70 years together... it wasn't enough.
The night of the funeral, when Susan's emotions were at their highest. Something saw her... in her dreams. As the barrier between dimensions, was thinnest in the dream realm. She could feel something looking at her, from outside the universe.
The being saw her looking, and came closer, but still needed permission to enter... something that read her souls desires, as easily as spotting her breathing.
"I can give you, your ideal life," the being promised. "Living on a more benevolent Gallifrey, being raised by the Doctor and the Master. I can even make it so you are related to them both. All you have to do... is let me in."
Susan stared at what she now understood too be a fae. Feeling... something... she couldn't put her finger on it. She knew this could be a trick, fae were known to twist their deals, to suit themselves. "Why me?" Asked Susan.
The fae gave a shrug... although didn't appear to realize what the gesture meant. As it explained in a serious tone. "Because you want it."
That only worried Susan more, "I know I can be naive," Susan eyed warily. "But what do you plan to do, once you get here?"
"I will save your worlds," the fae promised. "I will gather champions. And together, we will save the multiverse from a terrible evil. That has yet to turn it's sights on this dimension... but it will."
Susan eyed it... still unable too truly comprehend what the being looked like, let alone it's gender. However, she knew, fae do not lie. They might not say the whole truth... but they never lie. They had forgotten how. And while they made their deals based on intent... it was always their own intent, and what they thought the mortal wanted. As they aged, fae lost the ability to relate too mortal beings. It's why you had too be so clear with fae. The words don't matter, but you have too express your own intent in a way the fae could comprehend.
"While that's all well in good. I know how fae work." Susan insisted. "You'd create a new pocket universe, just for me. Something you could use to breed more children... but my home reality would continue on... without me."
The fae seemed unaffected. "What do you propose?"
Susan took a deep breath. Trying to verbalize what she wanted. "I will only give you an invitation to enter, if you travel back in time, and make alterations to my native Timeline. Based on my own ideal life.
The fae seemed intrigued. So Susan took that as a sign she could continue, "I have the technology, and the know-how, to destabilize my universe, and manually reset the fixed points. Unfortunately, if I try to build a better future, I'll attract the attention of the temporal police, the time agents, and even the Time Lords themselves... but faeries can pretty much do what they like. You're treaties give you the means to alter fate as needed."
The fae stayed quiet a moment, just looking... considering. "I have a better idea. How about I give you the means, too do it yourself?"
Susan puzzled out what that could mean. But couldn't find a flaw. "Alright."
The fae morphed into a more comprehendible shape... a blue man, with flames for hair, and shadows for clothes. Extending his hand he asked. "Do we have a deal?"
Susan, momentarily, worried she'd regret this. But accepted the hand. "It's a bargain... Hades."
"Well said, my little Susan Luna'moon Melinoë."
"Uh... that's not my title?" Susan blinked.
Hades just smirked, "It will be."

• The Doctor's last face... Clara.
She... had a good run. And ran she did. She outran fate itself. Through thousands of carefully crafted Paradoxes, she prevented her 12th face from becoming the Valeyard, reminding him just what the name "Doctor" was supposed to mean...
Clara sighed, having finally merged with her aging magician incarnation... only for the universe to implode... did it always have to be him, errr "her", saving the universe.
This was her last face... what would the universe do when she was gone, didn't she deserve to rest?
"Grand Father..."
Clara smiled, at the girl who stepped into her Room.
"Susan," Smiled the Clara Doctor. Looking at the first face of her child... "While I hope this is a social call... I have a feeling Rassillion sent you."
The young girl flinched, then grew sad. "Why... why won't you help?"
The Doctor sighed, "I've helped enough... too much. The universe needs to learn how to get on without me."
The child suddenly burst into Flames, and now, a different child stood there. A mighty Blue Dragon... the size of a human man. So still just a fledgling. "Then River's fears have finally come true," The boy sighed.
Clara raised a curious eyebrow. "You know River?"
The child gave a weak shrug. Clearly trying to keep things light, though couldn't help but be grave. They burst into light, and an older alien appeared. A man with grey skin, horns... and ripples in his purple eyes. "She's been helping with the War Effort... she often visits us, when she isn't discussing strategy with Rassillion."
The Doctor smirked, "Things must truly be desperate, if Rassillion is turning to humans for help."
"... they are..."
Clara groaned, "What do you want from me? I'm dying. Can't an old woman die in peace?"
The fae burst once more, and a far louder personality took over. A Saiyan female. "You don't have to die!"
The Doctor sighed, "My whole life has been moving from one fight to the next... and I've lost... so many as a result... a life as long as mine, is one war after another... it never stops..."
The Saiyan growled, "It will stop forever, if the Daleks have their way."
The Doctor gave another sigh, "I stopped them before... and they only came back even more dangerous... they have grown strong... in fear of me... The multiverse is in danger... because of me. I'll just make things even worse..."
The face changed again. This time to a young Hispanic man... dressed in Sith robes. He didn't say anything, sitting on his grandfather's death bed, watching her old wrinkled face... her last face... breathing her last breaths.
Finally, he spoke. "You help," The young man insisted. "That's what you've always done... and I got to agree with River. The stars might just go out, if you ever stop... if you ever accept defeat... I'm sorry Grand Father, I know your tired... but the universe still needs you...
The Doctor sighed. "I have lived for a million years... all of them out of order. I don't dare think how miserable I'd be for true eternity..."
The boy hung his head, defeated.
The Doctor laid a gentle hand on the boy's own. "But maybe... with my family by my side... it might actually be an eternity worth living..."
Susan appeared again, grasping the old woman's hand. "I promise, I won't leave you, not this time. Become my Cleric, live forever... with me."
The Doctor eyed his beloved child... truly only wanting to rest... but they needed him.
"I believe I get a boon, little fairy. For becoming your Cleric." The Doctor reminded.
Susan smiled, "Name it."
"Please, make my regeneration energy... work like yours."
Susan stiffened, "You want to randomly switch between faces?"
"I already hear them all, in my head, might as well let them speak for themselves," The Doctor shrugged. "Besides, you don't add new voices, unless you want them. As you don't regenerate, when you die... you respawn... and you can choose to let your lives, live mortal lives... gain mortal memories... die as mortals, before they join your 'hive'. Eternity wouldn't be so bad, with such a gift."
Susan thought a moment. Before turning into a young man, with hooved legs and a fox tail. Another thing the Doctor wanted. Each of Susan's faces, could choose for themselves, how old they appeared. Thinking with the mindset common to that age. Like this one was currently a middle aged man... when he normally appeared barely in his teens.
Sticking out his hand, he spoke with a surprising amount of seriousness, "Transmutation, on that level, is currently beyond my skill level... but we can ask Timmy, see if he's willing to grant you a wish. He can do practically anything, so long as he's granting a wish."
The Doctor gave a hesitant nod... Knowing wish granters often twist wishes, to be more amusing to themselves... but Timmy was young. He wasn't yet bored with the role... plus... he was naturally a very good boy. He wouldn't turn the wish into anything harmful.
The most fairy of fairies, in Susan's head, nodded to himself. "I'll ask Timmy if he's willing. But asking fulfills my side of the agreement. I'm not guaranteeing he'll do it."
The Doctor nodded his agreement.
The fae held out his hand, as he asked. "Do we have a deal?" The deal... something truly dangerous, in the wrong hands. It was old magic. Binding souls to the intent of their words. While the words, themselves, didn't matter. Both parties had to fully understand what the other was offering... as words don't matter, intents could be hidden... and often were.
But this was Susan. They wouldn't harm anyone. Much less their beloved grand father. So without hesitation, the Doctor took the hand. And felt the magic bind.
• A Million years ago.
When Susan was the human equivalent of 16, The Doctor again failed his Time Lord Acceptance Exam... for the 42nd time. While he was a genius, he couldn't pass the piloting exam... nor the psychological exam.
The Doctor got tired of it, and stole another Time Capsule. Or rather, she stole him. As the Other's "TARDIS", She recognized who the Doctor used to be, and allowed herself to be taken. Leaving her doors unlocked for him.
The Doctor took Susan with him... the Future General of Gallifrey. So Rassillion had no choice, he issued an arrest warrant for his Apprentice.
Now on the run, the Doctor and Susan returned to Earth, at a distant point in the planet's future. This potential Timeline seemed calm enough, and Susan attended human school for a few months, mostly for the social interaction.
A couple of teachers grew curious, of this strange girl who knew so much about science.
This resulted in tens of thousands of cycles, of taking on humanoid Companions, and growing attached to them... only to lose them all. Even Susan left him.
The Doctor continued saving planets, but was eventually captured. Rassillion was lenient, forcing the Doctor to regenerate into a child, and banishing the boy to Earth, during the 10th Century.
Earth was chosen, given the Doctor had been using it as a Refugee planet, for lifeforms that had their world destroyed by Daleks. The Refugees came to call the Doctor "Merlin", and idolized him for helping to bring forth a Golden age, with his apprentice, "King Arthur", and the 42 disciples (from wizarding families).
The 3rd Doctor spent a thousand years on Earth. Protecting the planet from the shadows, later with the help of UNIT. An organization his old friend, the Brigadier, started, through the united nations.
Rassillion called it "Community Service", when in truth, it was just an excuse to allow his son to live on a world he loved.
After the Doctor's sentence was up, in the 1970s, the Doctor went right back to travelling the possible futures. Rassillion used the good job The Doctor did with Earth, to convince the Council of Gallifrey, that the Doctor could be used to help them keep order in the universe. Granting him a field commission of "Time Lord General".
However, the Doctor largely did his own thing, unless forced to complete a specific task for the Gallifreyians.
The Doctor eventually ran back into the Master, only to learn the, currently a man, swore vengeance for Susan's. death.
Later in his career, the 9th Doctor (Christopher Eccleston), erased himself from existence. By sending his conciousness back in time, and forcing himself to regenerate into a Warrior. Creating the War Doctor, as the 9th Doctor. In order to prevent the Time War. By bringing the fight to the Daleks. He managed to rewrite history, by keeping Time Travel out of the Daleks tentacles.
The War Doctor met Rose Tyler, and took her on as a companion. Still fighting Daleks, but also taking her on more mundane adventures.
He later died, of old age. Regenerating into the 10th Doctor (David Tennant, with Eccleston being erased from this reality).
After regenerating, the 10th Doctor lost his hand, in a sword fight. Insisting he "was still getting used to the steering".
He continued fighting Daleks with Rose, as the Time War still hadn't started yet, but the Daleks remain a threat to the universe. But they also went on a lot more relaxing and fun adventures... and fell in love.
Rose later "died" by looking into the heart of the TARDIS, and ascending into the Bad Wolf. To this day, their Rose exist between life and death, as a god of Time and Space. She continues to look after the Doctor, and his companions... Although she keeps her distance.
Much later, after traveling with Martha. The 10th Doctor met Donna Noble. In this universe, The 10th Doctor didn't regenerate into himself, although the Meta Crisis and DoctorDonna were still created, from the 10th severed hand.
Donna's body couldn't handle the mind of a Time Lord, however, she refused to let the Doctor wipe her mind. Instead, choosing to die as she is, as opposed to living as she was.
The Doctor inevitably died, of old age, as the Reality Bomb didn't happen in this universe. Having many more adventures and companions.
The Doctor regenerates into the 11th Doctor, who is truly the 11th face the Doctor has had. Meeting Amy Pond, and still fighting the Daleks.
Later, after Amy is trapped in the 1930s, the Doctor meets Clara... who seems truly impossible. As he remembers meeting a girl, with her name and face, at least once for each of his lives... and she always died. Yet she appears completely human.
The 11th Doctor later learns, this is because the girl jumped into his exposed Timeline, at his future grave, and thereby scattered herself across his history, as echoes of herself... but that wasn't the whole story, and the fact she survived this should have clued him in.
Later regenerating, again from old age, he became the 12th Doctor, and continued fighting Daleks with Clara.
It turned out, Clara was the last face of the Doctor, who sent an echo of herself back in time, to stop the Doctor from becoming the Valeyard. Much as how the 5th Doctor sent an Echo of himself, to help the 4th Doctor, before merging with him.
Although Clara wasn't aware of her role, until she jumped into the Doctor's Timeline. Later, after the Doctor rejected Missy's gift of a Cybermen Army, Clara merges with the 12th Doctor, and regenerates into herself.
In this universe, all this happened before the Time War. As it was delayed by the War Doctor.
Unfortunately, The Clara Doctor, putting so much effort into preventing the Valeyard... gave the Daleks the opportunity to rediscover Time Travel...
And the War started anew.
At the end of the Time War, (Which hasn't happened yet from the Doctor's perspective.) A new universe was crafted. Used to house refugees, from the 42 universes the Daleks Destroyed.
(3000 years before the Doctor deal with Susan)
Within the Omniva Verse.
• Planet Shinobi, (Series: Naruto.) • Susan = Hagoromo.
Hagoromo froze, she couldn't believe her... errr "His" ears. He was a boy now, pronouns can be tricky for newly regenerated Time Lords. So why was he still having such trouble? Could just be his fairy blood. When most versions of him were a "Her", things could get confusing.
Regardless, Hagoromo felt the call of something he hadn't heard since he was a little girl. He was sitting on the porch, drinking his midnight tea. Turning his head, he felt the wind swirl as he heard it. That mechanical wheezing groan.
He smiled as a blue phone box began to materialize before him. He nearly ran into the man's arms, as the doors opened. Instead he gave a simple, "Hello Grand Father."
The older man, with the younger face, froze as he saw where he got to this time... although it took Hagoromo a moment to realize "He" wasn't a "he" anymore. Much like Hagoromo, this man appeared to have switched genders, becoming a woman, in their case.
A rather small, attractive, woman, with dark short hair, and a tiny nose.
Slowly recognition sparked in her own eyes. And with it, a smile slowly tugged at her lips. "Susan... did you get a haircut?"
"Not in the past 3000 years." Hagoromo noted. As Time Lord hair didn't really grow, getting a haircut was a reoccurring nightmare, as he would be stuck with it... forever. "Would you care for some tea. I just put the children to bed, and my wife joined them a few hours ago. An oddity, I have noticed, is most lifeforms require a lot more sleep then we do." He only needed an hour's nap, once a week.
The older, younger? Woman hesitantly stepped out of her shrine, closing the door behind her.
"I..." The woman struggled to get out. "I was hoping to track down you're descendants... I didn't expect to find you."
"Oh?" Hagoromo raised an eyebrow. "Then, I suppose, I shouldn't expect any world shattering catastrophes within the hour? Either way, I'm sure we have time for tea."
The older younger woman hesitantly took a seat, while Hagoromo poured a cupper.
"You look good... besides the horns, gray skin, and eyes like a ripple affect." Grand Father smiled teasingly, as he accepted his tea.
"That's right," Hagoromo sobered. "You never actually had the chance to meet this face." Hagoromo took another sip, just to be dramatic. "Regeneration is a lottery, at the best of times. Throw in interdimensional physics, and things really get crazy."
The Clara Doctor gave hesitant nods. Before deciding to focus elsewhere. "You mentioned... a wife... kids..." Grand Father hesitantly asked.
"Oh yes, my boys, Indra and Asura." Skipping right passed his wife at the moment. The Doctor was quite squirmy, when it came to such things. "They are doing well in their studies. Though Asura seems to struggle a bit, his refusal to give up always ensures he gets it down, in the end."
"They have a Surname?" Grand Father drank her tea.
"I call them, 'Doctor'."
Grand Father choked on her drink, before squeaking, "Really!?"
Hagoromo just smirked, "Of course not, your chosen name isn't exactly appropriate as a Surname."
Grand Father huffed, "Cheeky brat."
Hagoromo grinned, "I chose to give them their mother's name... Uzumaki."
The Doctor froze, "First Harry Potter... now Naruto... really trying to live up to your name."
"Is it really so hard to fathom?" Susan smiled. "Champions live hard lives, who wouldn't be willing to sell their soul, to break free of that. Especially given part of my deal means, I'm the one keeping their worlds spinning."
Minato was gone. The 4th Hokage, leader of Konoha village, and father to the champion Naruto... had never been born. As were at least one parent of each of their host... The Daleks had royally screwed this world.
But the 9 tailed beast refused to accept defeat. They refused to declare this world a loss. The Daleks were defeated, and they would not take this world with them.
"A demon?" Jiraiya frowned, "You have gone senile, old man."
Sarutobi sighed, "It's rare, but sometimes, an injured demon will reincarnate itself as a human child. The standing policy, since the founding of the village, has been to leave them be. As they tend to live quiet lives, until leaving once their chakra stabilizes. It's part of the treaties we have with Yokai, that encouraged them to trust us with summoning scrolls.
"However, Minato is the first of such children, that joined the Academy. I almost didn't allow it, but the boy swore he would not take our secrets in run. He pledged, if we taught him, he would spend the next three hundred years, in service to our village."
Jiraiya sighed. That did ease him some. Demons were known to be creatures of their word. While they could lie, if they made a promise, they would honor it.
"He passed the Academy, but I need to confirm he's worthy of becoming a Shinobi. Give him the bell test. Push him until he breaks. Make sure he is willing to put the lives of his teammates, above his own."
"This stupid body," Kurama coughed up blood. It was too young, couldn't handle his full power.
He knew the villagers would have trouble accepting a demon as a Shinobi. And unlike other worlds, their Healers could tell what he was from his literal birth. There was no hiding...
His human mother had rejected him. So he grew up in an orphanage... but the staff there had been kind. Knowing he would likely never be adopted, they became his family.
It was obvious, this shinobi didn't feel the same way.
The test was simple, get the bells. Those that claim one, pass the test... but there were only 2 bells, and 3 apprentices. One of them would fail... and it was obvious... their Sensei hoped it be him.
"I'm sorry," Kurama tried his best to ignore the boy, tied to a post. "If it wasn't for me, he wouldn't be going so hard on you."
Haiku smiled, "Don't worry about it. The guys an ass, I don't even want him as a Sensei!" post boy declared.
Kushina sighed, "This is impossible, believe it. How's he expect a bunch of Genin to pass this test?!"
Kurama sighed. Looking down at his lunch. Then up at the starving post boy... he was only tied to the post, and forbidden lunch, because he stood up to their teacher.
Standing up, Kurama summoned his demon claws, and sliced through the rope.
"What are you doing?" Haiku demanded, as he found his feet.
"That's what I'd like to know," The children's turned to see an angry sensei standing behind them.
Kurama gave a sad smile, "you're getting what you wanted... I quit." The other kids gaped. So Kurama looked over at them. "This way you both can become Shinobi."
"Screw that!" Kushina growled. "I'm not letting you play martyr! Believe it!!!"
"That's right," Haiku defended. "Either we all pass, or none of us do!"
Jiraiya kept his face angry, "You think you can turn your back on the Ninja way so easily. All of you? Well I've got news for you." Jiraiya suddenly smiled. "You pass!" The kids blinked. "Congratulations." Jiraiya insisted, after a full minute of dumbfounded looks. The sage explained. "Those that break the rules are scum... but those that abandon their friends are worse then scum. The entire point of this exercise was to push you to your limits. To see if you would abandon your comrades, for the sake of your own goals. To be frank, we don't want that kind of scum as our Village's Shinobi." Jiraiya smiled, turning his eyes over the kids. "I'd be proud to be your Sensei."
• 5 years Later:
"Haiku!!!" Kurama screamed. holding the body of his lifeless friend. Ignoring the battle that raged around him. "Haiku..."
• 10 more years later:
Minato stood over his wife's corpse. As he hugged their babe. Giving birth to a hanyou had been too much for her.
Looking down at their child... his sole link to his wife. Kurama swore, "Don't worry little guy. I'll love you enough for both of us. My Little Naruto."
The Clara Doctor looked into time, studying this planet, seeing just how many changes Susan had made.
First off, it appeared Madara really had died in his fight with the first Hokage. He was completely taken off the board. That, already, was interference on a global scale... How had the Time Agents allowed this? It only got worse from there.
During the Second Great Shinobi War.... Uzushio had survived the attack against them. Thanks to Lord Uzumaki waiting for the armies, outside the village. He single handedly crushed the rival force. Then proceeded to lead the Uzumaki in a counter attack. Crushing the Villages, and conquering them.
Clara couldn't help but think back, to when The Master tried to give him, back when Clara was a "Him", an army of cybermen, made from all the dead of the Earth. Missy's way of trying to make peace with the Doctor....by making him as evil as herself. Clara had two sets of memories on the event. The newest one, where he refused... and the original timeline... where he gave in. Conquering the universe, destroying the Daleks, vanquishing all evils in the universe... saving everyone... by force...
It seems Susan was following in both her parents footsteps. Some kind of twisted "Middle ground" as a conquering hero.
After the world was successfully conquered, Lord Uzumaki set a doctrine into global law, and then disappeared, leaving Someone else to rule. Some, seemingly random, citizen... but who the Doctor knew all too well.
Each country was still ruled over by their daimyō, but now the daimyō ruled over the world together, on a Parliament. Which discussed global laws, and set the budgets.
From there, the Villages largely maintained their independence, but now shared a louder voice, as they kept their daimyō in check from a Senate. The daimyō had to listen to them, although maintained the right to veto their decisions. However, the Senate could also veto any bills the daimyō tried to pass.
Even the smallest village had a voice on this Senate.
Further down the bureaucracy, was a council of clan-heads. Who kept the village leader in check.
Well at the very top, above everyone else, was a "Lord President". Although having to answer to the daimyō, they could pass any laws they wanted... and the Doctor could see the potential for something to go very wrong.
Lord Uzumaki would occasionally appear on the planet, check the progress of his clan, then disappear for a few more years.
Shinobi World flourished, even prospered... but the Missing Nin and bandit populations became more organized. Realizing their days were numbered, they attacked together, determined to stop the global levels of cooperation.
The third Shinobi war still came, only the players were different...
Rumors spread, that Lord Uzumaki was spotted on the larger battle fields, but he merely helped defeat the missing nin, then disappeared again.
For nearly a thousand years, Lord Uzumaki had been meticulously shaping this planet... it was almost unrecognizable... yet still maintained most of it's culture.
There was no longer the threat of a 4th Shinobi war. As all members of the Akatsuki, were either dead or never became Missing Nin.
There were no Jinchuriki, instead such children were all born as Hanyou, and raised by their demon parent.
The Missing Nin were still a threat, yet many that would have become such, remained loyal to their village. With Kisame becoming Kage of the mist Village. While Zabuza lived in his own clan... so never developing the loneliness that caused him to lash out against his class.
The Blood-limit massacre never happened, with Orochimaru developing legal techniques to enhance these abilities. Thanks to Lord Uzumaki giving him a Time Lord's near immortality, at a young age. Without the fear of death, clouding his judgement, Orochimaru became a respectable, if not still a little creepy, scientist.
Clan secrets were still being hoarded, but basic knowledge of Chakra based Jutsus, and sealing techniques, were taught in public Dojos.
As well as Magical theory, and the more simple wandless spells, were taught in all schools. Spells to cook, clean, and repair. With magical crafts taught as electives.
This world was not perfect. It's humanity had not been stolen to craft a perfect world. In fact, Susan seemed to have done what The Doctor did himself, during his millennium trapped on Earth... During his days as Merlin... she inspired a golden age, without removing people's choice in the matter.
Yes, forcibly creating a global government was pushing it, but the Shinobi had a say in that as well.
This World... was not perfect, it was not a utopia, maintained through evil means... The only people Lord Uzumaki permanently removed, where those that very well could have led to the destruction of the planet.
Clara walked into the Lord President's office. Not bothering with an appointment. Strangely... no one stopped her.
"Missy!" Clara raged, walking over to the desk, and ignoring the various people in the room. Merely slamming her hands against the desk.
The older woman, though same aged Time Lord, merely sighed. Looking at the daimyō, dressed in fancy robes, Missy informed. "My apologies gentlemen, but it seems my wife is displeased with me again."
The daimyō grumbled, but left almost immediately.
Missy asked, once they were alone, "What I do now? It's hardly my fault universal health care didn't pass. The daimyō vetoed the bill. We were in talks to better accommodate the lords, who make money on big pharmaceutical, but you just interrupted that meeting."
Clara blinked... and just stared at Missy. Part of her was still hurt about what she did to Danny Pink... but then there was a strange feeling coming over her, at hearing the word "Wife". Her Doctor and Clara sides raged against each other... there was the Time Lord part, that just wanted his friend back... and the Human part, that wanted revenge for all the horrors the master inflicted with most of their encounters.
Missy studied Clara's expression for a moment. Before taking out a travel Disk from her coat. And holding it out to her. "Coordinates for the day we met."
Clara looked at the disk... before hesitantly taking it.
• Planet Vegeta, (Series: Dragon Ball Z.) • Susan = Gine.
Gine once again stood on her world... as she always thought of it as her's. She'd lived here for thousands of years, overseeing the protection of the Saiyan race, during the Time War... they had legends and myths about her. It would be thousands of years more, before she met the man she was destined to love. The original Gine had been erased from history. As Lily had... as Bahamut had... as so many others had. All later replaced by Susan, to preserve the Timeline.
To ensure the champions would be born. The Time Lords rewrote the future around her... as she had volunteered, for the salvation of all worlds.
The History of the future demanded she die, demanded her mate die... demanded one of her son's becomes brain damaged, while the other becomes a slave... demanded her boys kill each other.
She was a slave to history... The Time Lords insured she couldn't escape the fate of her children, no matter what she did or said. But being assigned Planet Vegeta... it was too large a burden to bear... but thankfully, Grand Father wouldn't tolerate such a thing.
Grand Father had sent someone even further back in time, to a day that sealed the Saiyans' fate. Made them cruel. Taught them to harden their hearts.
She had been sent back here, to allow another to follow her through history... someone better at dictating history to their Whims... someone the Tuffle would fear more then King Cold.
"Good Luck... Grandmother..."
King Vegeta reluctantly left his children's side. He had mid-day court soon, and needed to get to the throne room. Part of him long to spend the day playing with his cubs, but he had a Star Cluster to rule.
Moments after closing the door to the royal wing, a voice spoke his name... his true name. The name he chose so very long ago. "Master."
The old Saiyan Warrior smiled, "I like it when you say my name... been so long since I heard it." he turned to see a bossy munchkin... notably, one missing a tail.
"What did you do?" The Doctor glared, "Possess the old king, and replace him?"
King Vegeta sighed, realizing this wasn't his Mate... but rather a version from before they reconciled. Even as a Time Lord, he could really hate Time Travel. They never met in the right order.
The Master explained, knowing it would do little good. "Nothing so inefficient. I AM King Vegeta, from birth to death, to resurrection. All, according to my design. The Fixed Point may have crumbled, but new ones were set in place. There are always work arounds. As I know you've taken advantage, yourself."
"I don't replace babies," The Doctor glared.
King Vegeta sighed. "I didn't replace him. I sent my conciousness back in time, and merged with him."
"You're playing God!" The Doctor raged.
"Which is my right," The Master smiled. "As a Time Lord... doubly so as King."
The Doctor took in a breath, "Master, you have to stop this."
"Perhaps you don't know, where you are?" The Master smiled, as if he knew something the Doctor didn't. Then began walking away. "Perhaps you should walk this world. See the good I've done for it. Then we'll talk again."
• 600 Years Ago, Saiyans' original homeworld.
King Vegeta, naked and hairy, overlooked the ship in the sky. He stood in his great ape form. He had brought order to the wasteland, by being the strongest. A position he often had to defend. But he had been little more then a beast... as all Saiyans were.
He had to learn control, and taught it to the others. In the 3 cycles of his life, as this Great Ape, he had successfully conquered the world. Just in time for the Tuffles arrival. The ship landed, with the crew hesitant to walk to the Kaiju city. They must be used to Kaiju being little more then beast, but King Vegeta had organized them enough to build proper huts.
"Welcome," The Master surprised them further, by speaking in Galactic Standard. A language he taught to all Saiyans. "What brings you to my humble world?"
The Tuffle scientists shared a look, before their leader informed, "We bring distressing news. Your world is dying, oh mighty Kaiju. We had detected life signs, and had intended to bring enough of your biosphere and animal life, and build a sanctuary devoted to it on our own world... but now...."
The Master smiled, "We Saiyans, being Sapient, changes things."
"This world has a good 60 years left," One of the other scientists suggested. "More then enough time to evacuate everyone."
Another pointed out, "Our world can barely support ourselves. How could we convince our government to take on an entirely new race?"
The Master smirked, "Then take us somewhere else. A world with no moons would be best, and in return.... I believe you already know what we can offer you. Our world is rich in precious Minerals, Metals, and Crystals. All things you need for your star vessels. Bring my people to a world of my choosing, and I will give you full rights to mine my world of all its resources."
The leader became wary, as was intended. "How do you know all this?"
The Master spoke his prepared lie, "Over a century ago, when I was but a cub, I stumbled on a ship... with what I now understand to be a Holographic AI. It taught me of the greater galaxy. How to read and write, and even speak your tongue... and I taught this knowledge to others.
"Unfortunately, the ship was vaporized in a fight, some decades before I noticed others observing our world. I know you've seen me enlighten my brothers. As I know the only reason why you were allowed to offer evacuation, is because your species has been illegally mining my world. Hence why it is now in danger of imploding."
The scientists looked down, in clear shame. "That wasn't us," the leader weakly insisted.
"You're here, because you feel guilty," Vegeta smiled. "For what your government has done... but know, I don't blame your people. I merely ask you help relocate us to somewhere we would be more comfortable."
• Planet Vegeta, founded on a different planet then the Tuffle Homeworld.
"The Tuffle brought us to this world," The master joined the Doctor, out in the court yard, some hours after their encounter. As the bossy munchkin walked the garden. The Guards had been put on alert, that the king's mate may be in a mood, and to let her be.
The master got right next too her, looking at the night sky. "A desert world, with no moon, located in... well, your Refugee universe. I'm surprised you just noticed us now, we've been selling our services for several generations. You really should pay more attention, to the worlds you founded."
"And those services are?" The Doctor glared, out of the corner of her eye. Not letting the Master distract her.
"Protection," King Vegeta smiled. "I got the idea from Shinobi World. Our warriors defend the star cluster, and all her worlds. Most of our troops patrol against world ending threats, such as asteroids and the like. That's all free of charge, with those warriors receiving a salary. However, if a traveling merchant wants an escort, our apprentices are sent to handle the task, for a humble fee. We have a policy not to interfere with internal planetary wars, unless it poses risk to the planet itself. We just make sure neither side commits any war crimes. There has never been a war between multiple planets, as all space fairing civilizations are encouraged to join a type of United Nations, but for planets. With all disputes, both beginning and ending, with diplomatic talks through the Senate. And before you ask: no, Saiyans are not the leaders of the Cluster. Although we don't stop other races from joining our defense force. The Chancellor of the Shounen Cluster, is an elected official... with the President... being you."
The Doctor spun around to glare at the Master. Who held up his hands defensively. "You only have emergency power, during war times. Something you've never needed to do. For the most part, your position is honorary, with no true power or authority. Just a great deal of respect."
The Doctor groaned, "Well this is all very tidy. Such a benevolent government system you set up."
Despite that being sarcasm, The Master responded as if the Doctor was sincere. "I took the lessons, you taught to Missy, to hearts," The Master shrugged. "After the Time Lords resurrected me, for their own war effort... and even after they split my faces into their own bodies. All of me tried to at hear to the lessons we learned... even Saxon. But I'm not you Doctor. I want to rule the worlds I save. As I still believe that is the most effective method of protection. However, I have become a much more benevolent dictator."
"And what of Goku?" The Doctor crossed her arms. "The universe needs him as it's champion. How will he develop without the lessons Gohan senior taught him?"
The Master smirked, "You don't think our granddaughter can instill those same lessons?"
The Doctor just groaned.
• On Earth, (Series: Harry Potter.) • Susan = Lily Potter.
"Just how many historical figures are you?" Clara examined the ginger.... ginger, Susan was lucky like that.
"More like the mother too historical figures." evaded Lily Evans nee Potter. Formerly the Time Lady Susan. She calmly sipped her tea
Grand Father eyed her suspiciously, "Suppose I'll just have to figure that out for myself."
Lily looked off too the side, seeing what her counterparts saw. "It seems you are... Its hardly like it was planned, Grand Father. I often make deals that lead to champions becoming fae... in return they want to experience the family they were denied. Through some paradoxes, I became that family. Raise the direct faeries in happy homes."
"And die young in most realities."
"An unintended side effect," Susan waved off. "Although my death is always a direct result of self sacrifice... I'm rather proud of that."
• Planet Argentium, (Series: Sonic the Hedgehog) • Susan = Rosemary Prower.
• Planet Mobius, 7 Years Ago.
Deep in the forest Kingdom of Acorn, Rosemary Prower cradled her new born tightly to her chest. Not tight enough to injure the little guy, but tight as she could bear.
The boy was born this very day, fated to be born today. Rosemary knew, from the moment she saw his second tail, on the prenatal screen... she knew, she would be parted from her child mere hours after he was born.
But she refused to let the Fates dictate this child's Destiny. She would insure he would be raised by his parents. Robotnik would not win this day.
The hug was made all the tighter, thanks to the embrace of the Captain of the guard... her mate.
The king was nearby, hugging his own child, and asking her to be brave. Sally, his daughter, was a hybrid of a chipmunk (her father) and a squirrel (her mother). The spawn of two great leaders, that's marriage united their kingdoms.
Once the King let go of his daughter, Rosemary hesitantly handed her babe over... to the barely 9 year old girl... then watched, as all the children of the Castle huddled together. Nervous as the Mages prepared their spells, then teleported the children, in mass, to a safe house.
The Safe House was heavily enchanted with Perception filters. Robotnik could never hope to find them, not even if he stepped into the heart of the compound.
Rosemary would not fail, she would crush this army. These children would not be forced to take up arms. The world would not need to depend on a group of child soldiers, as their freedom fighters. After today, these children would return to the life of aristocrats... they would never know the pains of War, Rosemary would insure that...
But Rosemary... was destined to fail... Fortunately, Rosemary had long ago made a deal, to scorn Destiny.
Long ago, a prophecy was given... that Rosemary would give birth to a champion with two tails... that would help defeat a terrible evil. Rosemary tried to prevent this future, by not having a child... but.. she hadn't counted on... on fallling in love.
Given her role as a consultant, she had worked closely with the Captain of the guard... Taking him as her mate... and soon there, after giving birth to the champion, the fox was destined to sire.
Miles "Tails" Prower.
It shouldn't have been possible. She'd done everything in her power to prevent getting pregnant. But the boy was still born of her... the Fates must have been desperate for him to be born,
Miles was extra special, as his bones were designed to rotate... like helicopter blades. It was just a freak mutation... manifested from the high level of chaos magic, the kit was born with.
It was rare, but Mobian children were occasionally mutated by the chaos magic, that infected their Galaxy. These children were often shunned, and tended to become mercenaries. As the only place they could fit in, was letting others use their gifts as weapons.
Sonic, Knuckles, Silver, Amy... and her Miles, were such children.
Rosemary just wanted to create a better future for Mobius... but fates were manipulating her... She should have realized, they would have given Robotnik the means to defeat her.
• 7 Years Later.
Robotnik had destroyed their kingdom, she had been no match for his army... as they had been powered by the Chaos Emeralds, themselves.
She eased herself with the notion her son was safe. Being raised by the King's Daughter... who was no more then a child herself, but Destiny told her, the girl would do a good job.
Rosemary had fought Robotnik's machines... and lost. His weapons were too great, even for her... Though she had been "saved" by an Alien race, the Bem. They were obsessed with trying to preserve "lower" lifeforms.
However, the way they went about it, was actually similar to Earth Humanoids. Tagging "wild life", setting up sanctuaries, observing them, keeping some as pets, or in zoos.
Honestly, Rosemary thought She would have preferred life as a house pet. The zookeepers believed she was somekind of a new subspecies of Fox Mobian... So they kept trying to breed her to the males in the exhibit. Something she didn't appreciate. As she had been mourning her husband when they started.
Thankfully, the male foxes were fine with being rejected... as they didn't exactly want to do anything while perverted Bem watched, either.
It wasn't like the Bem forced them to have sex. They kinda just put them in a pheromone filled room, and hoped something happened. It was more annoying... and embarrassing, then violating.
Another thing to be thankful for, was today wasn't one of those days. She was currently "relaxing" in her exhibit... meaning bored out of her mind.
However, Rosemary perked, as she heard a familiar mechanical wheezing.
The Clara Doctor, brought all the zoo exhibits, back to their home-planets. Some had lost their worlds, and colonized elsewhere. So she dropped them off elsewhere.
Rosemary smiled, looking around the Doctor's TARDIS. But she could explore later. Now what she wanted to see most of all was her son... Miles.
Regardless of how happy she was to see the Doctor... to be in the TARDIS again. Susan found herself awkwardly wishing she had her gloves. The ones that were taken from her, when she was captured by the Bem. She had gotten used to thinking of bare hands as shameful. Then was stripped of her gloves, and forced to endure people staring at her bare hands, for seven years.
"Nice touch, saving the whole zoo." Susan complimented. While hiding her hands behind her back. Barely registering she wasn't wearing any other clothes either.
"You could have done it yourself!" The Doctor snapped.
Rosemary rolled her eyes. "If I could have, I would have." was all she said. Not wanting to discuss the horror inflicted on her.
The Doctor was quiet... until he wasn't "Everyone thinks your dead Susan, why didn't you-"
He stopped, really looking at her. Not seeing her body, but rather her soul. He saw the damage, just now registering. He didn't know there was a force outside gods that could injure a fae so... her magic was crippled.
The Doctor looked away, Susan thankful he didn't point out the obvious. "Go put on some clothes," he ordered.
Rosemary looked at her bare hands again, having gotten used to the Mobian's version of clothing taboos. It wasn't like anything was visible on her. As Mobians had purely internal sex organs, further hidden by fur. With only cow-folk able to produce milk.
"Will do," Rosemary agreed. Going off to the Wardrobe, to hunt down some gloves.
• Planet Earth, (Series: A Series of Unfortunate Events.) • Susan = Beatrice Baudelaire.
Beatrice Baudelaire... smiled, as her home burned, smiled because her children would be safe. Smiled because, as she lay their dying, her body burnt past what their more limited regeneration could repair... she heard it... that wheezing groaning.
"Grand Father!" She called, feeling her body die. But she was a Time Lord, who could stretch her last breath for days.
A blue shrine appeared before her, as the building burned. The doors to the TARDIS flew open, as the Clara Doctor stepped out.
The woman looked young, yet her eyes were older then the stars. She eagerly stepped out of her shrine, only for his expression of glee to turn to horror.
"Susan!!!" She ran to her, trying to lift the beam that trapped her.
"Grand Father," Susan tried to get his attention. Her badly burned body weeping in relief. "It's too late, I can't regenerate, the damage is too great."
The Doctor froze, looking at her, kneeling before her... and weeping for a more obvious reason.
"Why are you still alive? If not waiting for me to save you?" The Doctor demanded.
"You met Hagoromo, and... and Lily," Struggled the Susan. "I saw you, through my hivemind. I knew you'd come... promise me Grand Father," Her burnt hand, flames still licking the skin, stretched out to him. "Protect my children... don't let Count Olaf hurt them... he knows... what they are..."
The Doctor gently took her hand, tears running down her own eyes. "Don't worry my child, I'll look after them. Now please, you've suffered long enough. Do my old heart a kindness... and let yourself die."
• Equus Rift, (Series: My Little Pony.) • Susan = Bahamut.
"Once, long ago, my name was Susan." Bahamut confessed to his egg. A beautiful winged unicorn, stood by the dragon's toes. Looking uncertain into the tiny Basket. "She was a brave girl." Bahamut explained to the child. "Savior of worlds. She fought in the Time War... I battled things worse then demons, all across time and space. And righted so many wrongs... but none of that makes up for this."
Celestia tried, "Lord Bahamut... I don't know anything about raising dragons. I'm sure he'll be much better off with you."
Bahamut sighed, "Yes he would, infinitely better... but the universe will be poorer for it."
"I-" Celestia tried, but Bahamut interrupted.
"The filly whom hatches this egg," Bahamut explained. "Will be the same one from your visions." Celestia stiffened, and so Bahamut assured. "They will defeat armies, unite Empires... even save your sister. But all that will pale when compared to what this child, himself, will grow to do." he gently stroked the egg, with a massive finger... far larger then Celestia, herself. "Galaxies will sing of his deeds. Gods will fight for their cause to be his... and he will grow to save entire dimensions all across the Ether."
"I will always love you," Bahamut promised his egg. "But your needed here... just know, daddy is very proud of you... and I will be back for you someday... if you'll have me."
"What's his name?" Celestia asked, as Bahamut turned away.
"His real parent should decide that... I'm little more then the sperm donor. Take good care of him, Celestia. I know, as long as he's with you, he'll be in a caring home..."
Celestia looked at the egg, barely noticing as The god of Dragons flew away. "Don't worry," She told the egg. Then named him, "my little Solar Spike, I'll love you enough for a thousand parents."
Book 0: Paradox Unleashed STORY prologueDavid... was dead... when Susan got involved with a human... she hadn't realized his lifespan would be so short... a measly 70 years together... it wasn't enough.
###
CHAPTER 2• The Doctor's last face... Clara.
She... had a good run.
