The warmth that seeps from his gilded scales is one... forgotten. Missed, perhaps. Instinctually, Iseldrllyr wanted to flinch away. She felt her lips twitch, a snarl begging to leave her throat. She's still not used to his touch. Not after decades of living without it— years of surviving off the caress of steel against flesh and snow against weeping wounds. This warmth was unfamiliar. And yet...
She couldn't help but lean into it further, fur gently sliding across the smooth hardness of Solyr's scales. Her eyes remain melancholic, her maw settled into a grimace. She couldn't bring herself to smile— not yet, at least, when the world still seemed so dull and bleak. Not when her heart felt so heavy —so bitter—that she no longer recognized it as hers. But.. for now? She could rest. She could let herself be held. Be warmed. And maybe one day, that warmth could start to thaw the pieces of herself she thought were lost.

A little something something I got for my dearest friend 
and I that, gosh, I LOVE how this turned out. Absolute props to the artist, the rendering style used has to be one of my favorites. The sheer detail on Solyr's scales? The emotion and depth in their eyes? How pretty Isel's horns and fur looks? Gorgeous. Just utterly gorgeous.
I love the bittersweet feeling this piece carries. I try to make it a point that Isel's path to healing isn't one that's easy nor can it happen overnight. But, maybe one day (if Solyr can keep on putting up with her lmao), she can reclaim some parts of herself that she lost. But again man, the sheer emotion in this art is so pretty. The gentle smile Solyr gives while looking down at her, to the more vacant/lost expression Iseldrllyr has? Ugh, love it!
