‘That’s right, it smells like you.’
“I’ve long known that most dangerous animals in the jungle are afraid of Ozzy, probably because of his size, though there might be more to it than that. Ever since I met Ozzy I’ve noticed that, even when he’s not with me, some animals that had been aggressive before were much less aggressive, especially snakes. I began to think that maybe they recognized his scent on me.
Lucia helped me test this theory abit, awhile back she had told me about the trouble she was having with monkeys coming into her treehouse and getting into her stuff, which was upsetting to her. I gave her one the big scales that Ozzy had shed not long before that, and she hung it up in her treehouse, and ever since she says not a single monkey has gotten into her treehouse. That got me thinking that maybe it could work for others too.
Every so often Ozzy will shed some old scales and new ones will grow in. I started collected the scales that he sheds, and once I had enough I strung them into a necklace. Maybe necklaces of his scales could help keep visitors to the island safe,… well,… safe from most animals atleast,…”
The Year of the Snek presses on with Ember coming up with a way to maybe protect people on the island, with Ozzy’s help, of course. ~^
This picture involves an idea that had been kicking around for awhile, finally being officially put into lore, that if it was realized that maybe Ozzy’s scent could ward off some dangerous animals that Ember would no doubt find a way to use that to protect others. Ozzy is so cute in this picture, his big, curious, wide eyes as he leans in to sniff the necklace of his own scales. Ember looks really good as she holds up the necklace for him, I love her confident expression, the big fluffy looking flowers on her belt, and how her long hair trails off the side of the picture. The bowl of scales is a nice touch, I like how there are scales of many different sizes, which is a great detail, same as the varying sized scales on the simple necklace. Will these Ozzy scale necklaces actually work as hoped? Only time will tell. ~^
