Oh man, when did the idea take such a turn? The origin thought was to draw a cheetah dressed as a Maasai - simple as that. To give it deeper meaning, the cheetah was supposed to carry a spear and go on ritual hunts, so he would be elevated to the status of a warrior. The question was: Why should he take a life just to please tradition? Why couldn't he live according to his own will and desires, without any silly rituals and constraints? They, the elders, were demanding too much.
The thought of expectations led to another thought: what is it like to be different - having different thoughts and opinions, so different, as if you didn't belong in this world, to feel alien amidst the customs and norms of a society that has nothing to do with you? Are you out of place in the world, or is the world? That's how the "Minecraft" savannah came about.
Aside from the unexpected difficulty of placing such simple shapes isometrically, it's actually a good exercise in developing spatial awareness. But that's the only good thing about this piece. The background was so poorly rendered that I'm ashamed of it, not to mention the water stains. The cheetah's coloring is atrocious, its garish color isn't even attractive, and the harsh outlines are terrible as well — I don't know what went wrong this time, as I wasn't in a hurry, nor was this one a particularly challenging subject.
Perhaps the drawing wasn't fully thought through and so doesn't even know what it is trying to be. Nevertheless, I want to show it because it's part of the journey.
