Eh, well! Say what you will, I personally have always been a fan of badass and strong characters being badass and strong. I think a bit of ego is warranted after using alien-to-this-world arcane sigils to obliterate an enemy that was going to kill everyone
Eh... I prefer my "badass and strong" characters having actual struggles and shortcomings to overcome and sometimes losing. It's really hard to get invested in a story when you know the character is going to win. The stakes become nonexistent. Why would I care about anything happening when it has no bearing on how it turns out in the end?
I say, "Give me something about Virmir outside of him winning." Because winning is all he is at this point.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong, he absolutely needs to lose and be brought down a peg, but at the same time, it *is* nice to see that he still has a good amount of his power here as well.
There's a much larger conversation to be had about a lot of power fantasy media, especially a lot of anime, has this chronic issue of hyping up someone's insane power and insane skill and then they get hit by a McGuffin beam and suddenly they're worthless, OR for some reason the main protag or antag are just inexplicably way more powerful. It feels cheap, ya know? I think personally, one of the only times I've seen that trope done well is with Gojo from JJK, where he's very much shown to be incredibly powerful and skilled, and the antagonists knew to fear him, but he was defeated due to his own overconfidence.
In that vein, I think so far, we're getting some fun stuff with Eevee Virmir. He knows now that he can still utilize his knowledge on arcane runes to set traps and annihilate enemies, but that can only get him so far, especially in this world. He's powerful in his own way, but he WILL fall to his overconfidence, and I'm hopeful that it's done in a compelling way, rather than simply just getting punted around and almost actually killed.
Make no mistake, I do think that going this route over the past few pages is a bit questionable from a writing standpoint, and I may have preferred to see Virmir have to fight off his newfound Pokemon instincts and learn the ways of the world that way, but this is going a whole new direction now that we know the sigils worked, and we kinda have to live with it now. And I mean, I dunno, I'm trying to remain hopeful about it, lol
