Reupload of an old Weed x Koyuki piece from 2022, because I now have a new redesign for Koyuki. I've had Koyuki as a yushoku/colored Kishu Inu since 2019 but her brown head just… didn't look right to me anymore. So I changed her brown to grey instead, one because it looks better with her black and white, two because her colors just look nicer with Weed's blue

And as how for differently I handle Weed and Koyuki's relationship in my rewrite/AU, I'm gonna just copy paste from the old ersion of this post:

In my AU unsurprisingly both characters have vastly different personalities, and I removed Weed's disgusting ~mommy issues~ in regards to why he was attracted to Koyuki in the first place

I’ve completely ditched the idea of Weed meeting Koyuki by rescuing her from a snare in the exact same way Gin met Sakura. In my version, Koyuki is trying to actively escape being used for breeding (unlike how in canon she blindly accepts her fate and has to be rescued by Weed) and live with the Ohu soldiers she looks up to. She does and Weed meets her when he saves her from some thugs harassing her, obviously considering an escaped pet dog doesn’t have any fighting skills yet.

They meet, have a friendship, and fall in love after they bond through Weed teaching Koyuki how to hunt and fight and survive in the wild. And of course there’s no bullshit involving Weed being a shit leader letting his own soldiers die in battle in favor of canoodling his girlfriend instead either. Plus it kinda goes without saying that my Koyuki has some spunk and isn’t a passive crybaby who breaks into tears over small shit.
