A little face-lift I promised a friend I'd do--she loved these two I had designed, so I said I'd revamp them to fit my current work. :3

The boy on the left is Zato-alpha--an artificial boy that acts very human.(Think Mao from Tales of Rebirth, but hardly as nice)
He doesn't like to take orders from anyone, and is rather stubborn. But deep down, he only acts this way because he was mis-treated when he was first created.
He was 'born' in a secret laboratory, and raised as if he was a weapon--what he was meant to be.
Finally breaking free of his captors, he ran away, accidentally getting a blue-haired girl mixed up in the mess.
After having gotten far away from their prison, Zato came to learn that the girl--Zato-beta--had a similar name to him, so he decided to set her apart and name her Kei.
Presently, the two are still on the run, fighting for their lives in this cruel post-apocalyptic world, trying to find answers as to why they were created.

I had the thought to make the two of them artificial ZATO(Zealous Artificial Training Orders), after thinking about their character for a little while now--The crystal's on their necks are a ZATO trademark, allowing them to tap into different skills, while also changing their appearance.(eg, When Zato's crystal turns red, his hair turns the same shade, granting him super-strength--Kei has the same ability, but since she is more fragile/sorcerous, her hair changes are paler, such as pink.)
