official Sona, Stefano the Pirate water dragon
Here is my official Dragon/Kaiju sona. As I already mentioned, my spinosaur sona, created for Enchantia and based on my Amber Isle character, is a variant of my sona, but not the true one. As I said before, my main sona is an Aquatic Dragon, which also works as a Kaiju Sona, because I like Kaiju such as Godzilla, Gamera, the various Ultraman monsters, and even external kaiju like Gorgo and its Mother. I’ve seen a lot of Kaiju OCs on the web, and I don’t mind the new American Godzilla universe.
Except for Kong! I'm not a fan of monkeys, especially in various media, unless they're made really well, but that depends on the author. For example, Donkey Kong and friends are an exception; they're not my favorite characters in the Mario universe — I'm team Bowser, long live the Koopa — and I also like the Yoshi species, but I think the Kong characters are good. And I'll be honest: even Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, he's a real Chad; he single-handedly caused chaos in an entire pantheon of gods, he's truly a badass (however, the Dragonball series is crap to me). But basically I don’t like monkeys: I find chimpanzees ugly and overrated, gorillas annoy me less than chimps. Monkeys are popular only because they're memes. Therefore, Kong, from the Montenvers, gets on my nerves; he's popular just because he's American.
Returning to my sona, it’s an aquatic dragon (not necessarily marine). Its design is based on Titanosaurus from the Japanese Godzilla universe. The body structure is inspired by Japanese kaiju, the ones made with those big clumsy suits/puppets — the suitmation style — while the animals of inspiration are the Spinosaurus and the crocodile.
The colors are based on my first sona, the Enchantia Spinosaurus, so dark blue, light blue, green spots, and silver stripes. The lines around the neck are gills for breathing underwater, but these dragons can easily live on the surface and breathe normal air, though they feel unwell if dehydrated. No wings: this species of aquatic dragons is specialized for swimming; the various crests along the back, head, and tail act as fins and provide hydrodynamics in the water, allowing them to swim at high speed. At first, I imagined their body shape to be chubbier, inspired by Japanese kaiju, but the sculpture came out slimmer than expected — and that fits the aquatic dragon lore I have in mind. They are creatures with a build focused on speed, agility, and intellect, especially magical intellect, at the expense of endurance and physical strength.
All versions of my dragon sona can easily withstand the high pressure of ocean depths; they could live in the Mariana Trench just as easily as they live on the surface of a lake in the European plains. They have a bit of dark-vision in such deep, dark waters, and they perceive their surroundings by listening to the vibrations in the water through the crests along their back, working like a sort of sonar.
They prefer aquatic environments; they can live in any habitat and temperature, but they hate heat. They love the cold: in fact, they favor icy northern and polar-circle environments over tropical ones.
This sculpture has every section of the body separated from the others, allowing the pose to be changed; it’s basically a fully articulated action figure. The legs are slightly digitigrade, but only a little. I also tried making a “feral” four-legged version; you can see it in two screenshots, though this version didn’t come out very well. And finally, there’s a version with pirate accessories and devices for pirate missions, with the crew assigned to artillery inside the turrets mounted on its back (an inspiration I got from watching some “March of Giants” videos when it was announced). All the side chests are there because pirates are looters and grab anything valuable they get their hands on. The cannon is a gauntlet that fires magical beams, the trigger is inside where you insert your hand, and the potions on the upper part serve as ammunition. The trident is a magical scepter that controls the waters and also works as a melee weapon.
Then there are two alternative descriptions/lores of my dragon sona: one for the fantasy dragon version and one for the kaiju version.
For the dragon version: their lore is connected to the mythology I’ve been developing for years for my personal Multiverse, which is heavily inspired by fantasy settings such as Warhammer 40K and Trench Crusades. I intend to write its full story someday—my own personal Silmarillion—but for context I need to mention a few things now. This specific species of dragons is believed to be a direct creation of a dominant deity of the multiverse, named Tan-gara-horoa, whose name is taken from the actual Hawaiian mythological deity. Tan-gara-horoa is a dragon goddess with the appearance of a perfect cross between a crocodile and an elegant, gem-scaled sea serpent, with a refined and graceful personality—though not too much, as she is still a “pirate goddess”—and she is highly cultured. She is one of four quadruplets: three sisters and a brother with a very feminine appearance whom she has to look after like a babysitter. I’ll speak in more detail about her and her family in the future, when I begin writing the mythology of my Multiverse. For now just know that she and her relatives form a house of dominant gods, standing at the top of the divine food chain. Her church, together with that of her brother and sisters, is known as “the Church of the Four Sisters”, where the four elements are worshipped: “hydrosphere”, “atmosphere”, “geosphere” and “biosphere”.
Tan-gara-horoa is the hydrosphere: her patronage covers everything related to water and ice, including storms and frost. She is the patron of a playable race in my dark fantasy world, the Tritons, who are sea nagas, and she is also the patron of seafarers and navigators, including fishermen and pirates, for whom she wrote a code of conduct, the “Pirate Code” (Pirates of the Caribbean reference). However, there is a small problem with the latter. Millennia ago, half of these pirates committed a great betrayal against her; the pirates who remained loyal became Corsairs, forced to give up part of their freedom to comply with the laws of their respective governments, for which the goddess rewrote a new code of conduct from scratch, the “Corsair Code.” Since then, Corsairs loyal to the goddess (assisted by the Imperial Navy and the Church of the Great Awakening) and heretic, traitorous pirates (cursed and often allied with Hell or the enemies of the Empire) have been at constant war with each other. Of course, she is based on Hawaiian mythology; in this lore, however, it is reversed: the various mythologies of our world (and other universes) are inspired by these dominant gods, the oldest and most powerful in the entire multiverse. The gods of mortals are insignificant in comparison.
The other sisters and the brother are: Tamahu-Ike, the sister opposite Tan-gara-horoa. Tamahu-Ike is the goddess of the geosphere; her patronage is the opposite of her twin sister’s and includes everything related to earth and fire, the underground, minerals, and the forge. She is the patron of miners, farmers, those who work the land, and a playable race of giant anthropomorphic armadillos, the Tamahu. Tamahu-Ike can be described as a rock kaiju, a living mountain with an active volcano on her back, and has a more aggressive and irascible personality, though not evil; she prefers fighting and chaos over dialogue. She is also a Hawaiian-like goddess.
The older brother is Kurod-khan, whose sphere of influence is the atmosphere, encompassing the sky, air, and weather; he is the patron of pilots and those who fly (I haven’t created a dedicated playable race for him yet, but I was thinking of something similar to velociraptors) and he also has control over his sisters’ elements. Kurod-khan is a winged serpent, based on Quetzalcoatl and the Maya/Aztec myth, and is the only male among the sisters, but he has a female body, voice, and face; for this reason, he is called the older sister. Kurod-khan is responsible for keeping the two quarreling sisters in check; when they were first imagined, these three deities were originally inspired by Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza.
The fourth sister, the youngest, is Natari, whose patronage is the biosphere, encompassing mortal, plant, and animal life; she is also the patron of survival, evolution, and the progress of living beings. She does not hate technological progress and is interested in guiding intelligent civilizations of the multiverse toward eco-friendly technologies. Aesthetically, Natari is a dragon with bear-like legs and deer-like antlers resembling tree branches. Natari is, canonically, the true goddess of the Furry Fandom, as she is the patron of Druids, and the Furry Fandom (including therians) is seen by the gods as the druids of modern society. Thanks to Natari, all members of the Furry Fandom (including you, reading this right now) can ascend upon death to the Paradise of the Four Sisters, appearing in the form of their sonas, because the soul follows not only the body’s shape but also the mind’s form and how the individual sees themselves. However, to ascend to paradise and achieve true immortality, one must complete the pilgrimage of Helheim, similar to purgatory, or be in Natari’s favor, allowing them to skip purgatory and go directly to her. Of course, one must not be a damned soul: judgment exists, and evildoers do not enter paradise unless they are liked by their gods (recommendations also exist in paradise and among the gods). Sinning is not a sign of evil, but it still lowers one’s score in the soul’s judgment. If the pilgrimage in purgatory is failed, the soul is consumed and reincarnated randomly in the multiverse. Yes, there is a connection between Natari, Shvr-Rath, and a third goddess, but I will discuss this in the future; thus, Natari is important for what comes next.
My dragon sona is part of these aquatic dragons called the Dragons of Tan-gara, so named because it was believed they were created by the goddess herself, as they slightly resemble her. Spoiler: this is not true; they are the children of evolution, with a common ancestor for all dragons dating back to the dawn of creation. However, the legend that they originated from Tan-gara-horoa is still very popular among these dragons and sailors.
NOTE: the names of the deities and the playable races linked to them are still temporary and unofficial. Until I write the official lore, they may be subject to change.
The Dragons of Tan-gara love aquatic environments and can move both on land and on the deepest ocean floors, whose pressure is lethal for normal creatures. They prefer cold and glacial climates, and their crests function both as fins for swimming at high speed and as environmental sensors, allowing them to see in the dark underwater through the vibrations of the water itself. I have already described all of this at the beginning.
The Dragons of Tan-gara can live for millennia; they are cultured and intelligent creatures, with natures ranging from lawful-good to chaotic-good. Some enjoy the fresh waters of rivers and lakes, but most prefer marine waters. They are omnivorous, though primarily predatory carnivores, and most enjoy fish, even raw and alive; however, their draconic physiology protects them from various marine parasites.
They are not physically strong dragons; their strength and constitution stats are low. In water, they have speed and dexterity stats at maximum levels. They are marine predators, swimming as fast as torpedoes, silent as ghosts, and able to see in the dark; they have dinosaur-like teeth and crocodile-like jaws. Out of water, however, these dragons are clumsy and awkward, losing their dexterity and speed bonuses. Furthermore, their elemental breath is the worst of all: they vomit water, and do so poorly.
However, although they may seem like weak dragons, they are high-level and very powerful: why? Their greatest strength is their magical ability. They are naturally high-level mages and do not even need magical formulas, tomes, objects, or catalysts to cast any type of spell; they can do it with a glance, a snap of their fingers, or simply pointing. Even the youngest Dragons of Tan-gara can cast spells at the level of a Grandmaster Enchanter. Furthermore, their intelligence allows them to learn easily without attention deficits, even though they suffer from ADHD.
The Dragons of Tan-gara are very loyal to Tan-gara-horoa, their main goddess. In the past, these dragons joined pirates on their expeditions, becoming pirates themselves. But then came the betrayal of the pirates. Since then, the Dragons of Tan-gara have become noble corsairs or work alongside ordinary sailors on fishing boats, merchant ships, passenger ships, and even in the military navy. For the most part, these dragons serve as officers and captains, giving orders to the crew. They often also hold positions as nobles or belong to wealthy houses in the society of the Vanir Terrestrial Empire, with knighthood titles (because yes, in the empire even dragons can become knights).
The Dragons of Tan-gara, like all intelligent dragons, are shape shifters capable of assuming various forms. They often take the shape of intelligent inhabitants of the Empire to move through crowded places and buildings, because dragons are large and could cause damage. Dragons can assume a fully alternative form, but since they are very proud of their true form, they prefer to retain some physical traits of their original form to be recognized as dragons: often legs and feet, tail, arms and hands, crests, wings, and horns. The result is a perfect hybrid between a dragon and any sentient creature they choose to imitate.
The story of my Tan-gara dragon Sona: Sir Stefano of the Valentino family, a house of Tan-gara dragons and noble corsairs, serving the great Vanir Terrestrial Empire, specifically in the internal nation of the Empire known as the Dominos Empire, which I can describe as the Italy of this dark fantasy world. It is an Italy of planetary conquerors, where the Roman Empire never fell; in fact, it progressed and expanded. Dominus controls five planets and voluntarily participates in all the great planetary conquest crusades of the Terrestrial Empire, because their main gods are the Gods of the Church of War, and the Imperials of Dominus are fanatical warmongers.
The Valentino family, for years, dating back to the time of the pirate betrayal, has been in mortal rivalry with none other than the pirate Blackbeard, one of the original traitors, who became immortal by joining the undead faction and became a legendary alpha vampire.
Sir Stefano is also known as Captain Cobras VII°, and his mentor was a legendary corsair captain, Maria of the Amo d’Argento family, a human known as Captain Cobras VI°. Maria taught Stefano everything he knows about being a pirate, from combat and navigation to naval mechanics, crew management, and commanding a ship. She also taught him the magical practice of shamanism, that is, how to communicate and interact with the spiritual plane and with elemental spirits. On his own, Sir Stefano was already skilled in history and archaeology, abilities useful for identifying rare treasures. Sir Stefano became Maria’s second-in-command, taking the name Crocodile Jaws, because “Sir Stefano” was not an intimidating name for a legendary corsair.
Unfortunately, Maria had grown old, and in the Empire’s army, retirement was rare. After countless battles, the elderly Captain Cobras VI° was fatally struck by Blackbeard himself. On her deathbed, Maria passed the title of Captain Cobras to Sir Stefano, and that is how he became Captain Cobras VII°.
The ship of the various Captain Cobras is the Crowned Snake, originally a wooden galleon. The ship has been severely damaged in many ways, but it has never been sunk and has faced countless battles. Over the years, it has been repaired multiple times, and with scientific progress, the ship has been upgraded, enhanced, and enlarged: 70% of its original parts have been lost, and 20% have become museum pieces or decorations on the ship itself. Modified so many times, with parts lost and replaced, its hull has been reinforced with metal plating over and over, so much that it became the “Frankenstein monster” of imperial destroyers. The Crowned Snake’s body has changed over the centuries, but its soul has remained the same; for this reason, some captains call it the immortal ship. The Cobras’ flag depicts a sea serpent entwined around an anchor, surrounded by seven swords, one for each Cobras who has inherited the captaincy title over the centuries.
This is the general lore of my Dragon Sona, Sir Stefano, also known as Captain Cobras. Captain Cobras was originally the name I gave my character for roleplay on Sea of Thieves. I even tried to customize my ship, weapons, and outfits with a snake and reptile theme, always keeping them consistent with the character, while completely avoiding spending real money on in-game skins. I stopped playing Sea of Thieves because it was like a drug for me, and when a limited-time update with snake-themed skins—perfect for my ship—was released, my PC had an update that could no longer run the game, and I couldn’t play anymore… and it’s probably for the best, as that game took up too much of my time. Sometimes I still dream at night about playing Sea of Thieves or pirate-themed games. At least Planet Coaster is a creative tool that allows me to make these posts.
The lore for the Kaiju version is simpler and quicker: the Stefano Kaiju version originates in a universe called Midgard-N°11GD5TY63. This universe existed millennia ago, and its land was chronologically aligned with the present day. My alter ego was an unemployed Italian looking for work, with a hobby of collecting dragon figurines and pirate-related merchandise; in short, my life at the time, one-to-one.
One day, someone started digging illegally beneath Mount Etna, probably a mafia group intending to smuggle or hide illegal items. Unfortunately, Etna is famous for being the prison of the titan Typhon, father of all monsters according to Greco-Roman mythology, and a terror to the gods, who had forced them to hide cowardly. In my mythology, Typhon is a far more monstrous and Lovecraftian entity: an amorphous mass of tentacles, dragon heads, and eyes, with one giant dragon head as the dominant feature; mythological interpretations greatly simplify this form. He was not imprisoned by Zeus: Zeus asked the Dominant Gods above the Midgardian ones for help. Only one of these gods neutralized Typhon in a single blow, effortlessly, and imprisoned him; Zeus then took credit for the capture. The titan remained imprisoned until he was awakened and freed by the illegal excavations.
Typhon, awakened, furious, and full of the power he had accumulated, literally erupted from the volcano in an amorphous mass of serpent-like tentacles, with dragon heads and eyes everywhere, spreading across the Earth’s sky and beyond, surpassing the solar system and perhaps reaching the center of the galaxy. But this was not the worst: the power he had accumulated over time exploded, extending to all the galaxies of this universe. The explosion destroyed nothing; on the contrary, every living being on Earth, and beyond, was transformed into a Kaiju. Some individuals fused with each other, others merged with the inanimate environment, and even with human concepts, creating gigantic Kaiju of all kinds, species, and shapes. All living beings were transformed, from humans, who became animal-like, to animals themselves, including microscopic ones such as krill and protozoa, and even some plants and trees.
Do you have any idea how many microscopic creatures exist on the ocean floor, so small that they are invisible without a microscope? Now imagine if each one of these creatures individually transformed into a Kaiju as large as Godzilla, and add to that the terrestrial living beings of more “normal” size. In short, the planet was completely submerged by an incalculable number of giant Kaiju piled on top of each other. And not only Earth: every living alien being in the universe suffered the same fate. All the Kaiju, forced to witness Typhon’s true form and hear sounds that mortal creatures should never hear, suffered severe mental damage; former humans lost their intellect and became beasts, along with 70-80% of their memory, which was gravely damaged.
Typhon didn’t care at all; in fact, after unleashing total chaos, he made the entire universe explode and swam off somewhere into the void. Don’t worry: the Kaiju are resilient and, in some cases, immortal, surviving in the void between worlds. Thus, the various Kaiju, without a home, moved in packs throughout the multiverse, traveling along the roots of Yggdrasil. The new Stefano and his pack of Kaiju headed toward the Midgard-[DATA REMOVED] universe, reaching the Earth of that universe through portals.
The new universe is identical to ours, even chronologically. The new Kaiju arrived at the dawn of primordial life, when the first fish were moving onto land, feeding on radiation as in the American Godzilla Monster Universe Lore; occasionally, they eat prehistoric animals for the pleasure of it. This alternate Stefano, being a Kaiju similar to a sea dragon, bound to water and ice, moved to find a cold aquatic habitat in which to live.
Over the millennia, the first human civilizations arose, and these Kaiju were worshiped as pagan deities. My alter ego, Kaiju Stefano, being in the icy northern seas, was mistaken for Jörmungandr by the Vikings. Then, due to a decrease in the radiation they fed on, the Kaiju retreated underground or went into hibernation for millennia, disappearing from the eyes of the humans who had worshiped them for years. Later, they awakened in the present day due to the emergence of new types of radiation and energy to feed on, and because of human activity. And, boom, Kaiju movie-style situations and events begin.
Kaiju Stefano, or Yormungand according to the Vikings and, consequently, humans in the “present” of this universe (I will call him that because it sounds better), does not change aesthetically from the versions already described. The differences are: his size, as he is a giant Kaiju, making him a colossal creature; and his intellect, which is feral: he is an animal, yet intelligent almost at a human level. Humans compare his intelligence to that of dolphins, whales, and certain primates. Yormungand recognizes human technology and creations, their behaviors, likes and dislikes, and learns from them, even understanding concepts such as “morality,” “right and wrong,” and “good and evil.” Yormungand loves shiny objects, treasures, and human creations, stealing and collecting treasures, ships, and human structures purely for the pleasure of collecting. His lair is filled with sunken wrecks and ancient treasures, and he even attempts to replicate human furnishings for his underwater home. Yormungand seems to have a connection and kinship with other Kaiju across the planet, especially with the cat-like Kaiju Bustet, located in a secret temple beneath the Egyptian underground.
PS: this part of Lore concerning intellect can vary depending on the setting universe. In certain works, both official and independent, kaiju intellect varies. For example, in Kaiju Dayz by HazeDaze, links: https://www.deviantart.com/kaiju-dayz, https://www.furaffinity.net/user/hazedaze/, https://kaijudayz.com/. I hoper i have do the right things for the link, i nether do it things like this. Here, the Kaijus are fully sentient like humans, they speak and reason like humans, and even use tools for domestic purposes.
Regarding Yormungand’s powers: let’s start by saying that the Kaiju created by the release of Typhon are of the “Magical” type, instead of “radioactive” or “alien” like classic Kaiju. Although in the latter case they come from another World in the Multiverse, this specific group of Kaiju is terrestrial, from a planet Earth in another universe, but still Earth. Yormungand has a freezing breath, capable of instantly freezing anything. If this breath is directed into the sky, it can trigger thunderstorms or even storms, depending on its intensity. Yormungand can attract lightning from storms or charge itself with electricity or other types of energy, and then shoot it from the tips of its fingers, like the Emperor of the Sith in Star Wars.
All of Typhon’s Kaiju are radioactive, but not with the classic type of radiation like Godzilla. The “radiation of Typhon” is the same magic that Typhon released, transforming all living beings of the old world into Kaiju. Excessive exposure to this radiation can cause random curses, transformation into smaller monsters, and, in rare cases, a high concentrated dose can turn an exposed being into a new Kaiju or even grant them superpowers. Yormungand and some Kaiju who arrived with him have learned to harness this radiation to cast spells on mortal enemies or grant special powers to some of their ancient followers. It is believed that this is the origin of legendary heroes or mythological monsters described in ancient mythologies.
And with this, I think I’ve covered everything about my sona and its variants. Now, some announcements for future activities, visible only to those reading this part on the release day; within one or two months, they will become obsolete:
So, in previous posts I mentioned that I wanted to create something inspired by “Mortal Engine". The idea was to build moving structures, mobile platforms on which to construct attractions, a futuristic and advanced version of the itinerant amusement parks of city fairs. The corporation would market this project with the slogan: “Why travel across the world to visit a theme park when the entire theme park can come to you?”, creating real touring events, similar to music concert tours, with visit dates in major cities around the world. Some platforms were meant to feature themed attractions, while others were designed to resemble giant creatures. This does not pose a problem for the lore of the Red Eye Corporation, after all, the alternative universe created by the corporation is far more scientifically advanced than ours. Naturally, these platforms are yet another generation of monstrous mega-organisms created by the corporation, fusing together humans and animals with Black Ambrosia.
I had tried to create a “prototype”, a flying platform on which the Corporation would have built an attraction. However, the final result did not appeal to me, and during the process, I realized that the idea was too complex to implement and took too much time. It’s a bit of a shame: I had imagined an entire amusement park on top of flying ships or platforms, connected to each other by bridges, but given the complexity of the project, it was better that the idea was discarded.
I have in mind a new project in planCo2, simpler to develop, which I won’t spoil for you, but it is related to the concept of “Monster Collector Games”, like Pokémon, but more similar to Digimon. I won’t give spoilers, but the project has the codename “Ride-Avatars”, which is not the official name of the final creation; think Digimon.
However, for this project you will have to wait until next year, perhaps even after January; I won’t be able to complete everything before the Christmas holidays. In addition, I’m already trying to create a little project for Christmas, and I want to try to finish it before everyone leaves to visit relatives for the holiday. I don’t usually like making holiday specials—too much effort and time constraints—but I want to publish everything between December 17 and 20: it will be my Christmas gift for those who view and read my creations. I make no promises; I’m not sure I’ll manage in time, and if not, I will publish it after Christmas. This project is called “Ride-Sona” and will also be connected to “Ride-Avatars”.
After “Ride-Sona”, I want to take a break—not from Planet Coaster, but from building things just to publish them here on the site. I want to play purely for the enjoyment of playing, and this way I can focus on that more serious project inspired by the SCPs.
But there’s another unexpected surprise, which even caught me off guard: on one hand it makes me happy, and on the other I think, “*** more work to do, I’ll never have peace.”** Yesterday, relative to the day I’m writing this—November 25, 2025—Frontier, the developers of the game I use to create these things, made the BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS!
The update 8 of Planet Coaster 2 has been announced, introducing a bunch of new items and mechanics, including snowfall, snow, ice, and in-game storms, all of which can cause damage to the park and need to be managed. They also announced the return of the “festive” theme, that is, the Christmas theme. And new theme means? A new faction for Enchantia… well, surprise! I’m covered: the Christmas faction already exists. If you remember the post about the WIP factions, Frontier has made things easier for me.
But at the end of the announcement video, there was a teaser for a new DLC, featuring a new theme that no one expected, not even me. I had thought of factions in Enchantia with an Adventure theme: Egyptian Adeptus Mechanicus, Biopunk Maya Saurians, Chinese dragons. And what theme does Frontier introduce? The “Toy Theme”, the Toy Story theme, perfect for the Christmas season. The teaser showed only a shop with new decorations and a new action figure of the new themed mascot, a kind of superheroine: a woman in an orange Gundam armor, Iron Woman. If you pay attention, you can see new attractions in the background. They didn’t state the theme’s name, but it’s obvious that it’s toy-themed. I honestly have no idea what to do for the Toy Theme. I could make a variant of the fairies, but fairies that reject nature in favor of toys? I also can’t link the new toy theme to the Christmas theme, besides that being too easy. Toys aren’t necessarily a Christmas theme: Christmas comes only once a year, but toys can be bought and used all year round. I also need to create a lore, with the origin and explanation of the faction. I welcome suggestions: please give me advice in the comments.
And with this, I say goodbye. If I don’t manage to publish “Ride-Sona” on time as I had planned, I’m sending you Christmas 2025 greetings in advance. So, I say goodbye and wish you a Merry Christmas 2025.
Many of you are American or English; I am Italian. In Italy, there are lots of elderly relatives and descendants of farmers, in a strongly Catholic country. The Christmas period, in the small villages where I live, is a real handful: it’s full of relatives, mostly elderly, who come to visit and play tombola or card games, betting real money.
In the streets, strictly at midnight, people go to church every night of the Christmas week, because we Catholics are full of celebrations that fill the calendar. I, on the other hand, stopped practicing religion: I became agnostic and believe in science, although I once had a religious period during which I participated in the celebrations.
And with this, I say goodbye and wish you a Merry Christmas 2025 in advance.
