Chapter 35: Fighting it Out
Vesta was slower in here, or at least it seemed like she, or it, was. The demon, and she really did look very demon with black scales and long horns a distressingly long tongue and spined tendrils lashing about. Still slower though, which didn’t make that much sense to Michelle.
Especially considering that Michelle herself seemed to be faster than she ordinarily expected. She was able to dodge tumble away from the charge with the ease of a kitten. It was as if her body weighed nothing. The next charge she lept over, soaring higher than normally possible with a single jump. The demon’s tail lashed across her hips as she did so, a blow that might have broken something in real life, but here left her merely sliding across the floor before she got back to her feet. Even the floor itself seemed to be being nice to her. She glanced down at where she had just slit seeing rusted and serrated edges of metal on the pseudo factory floor she had just slid over. She had felt none of it, and glancing down at her naked body showed no injuries. No way that was just luck.
One downside was that her spells still weren’t effective on this thing. She could dodge well, and getting hit still hurt, but wasn’t bone crushing like she’d expect, but similarly she was having a hard time actually beating the demon.
“This place is weird, Kate”
“I’m getting that” Kate replied. She was similarly rocketing around the room. The factory seeming to tear up around her as she moved. Almost as much as Vesta, though in her case it was due to the huge bulk of the demon shredding as it went rather than the oddly agreeable surroundings getting out of the way for the girls.
Handicap or not it was still a hard battle. Something Michelle was reminded of pretty hard when she mis-timed a dodge and a demonic fist hit her square in the gut launching her in the air followed by a yank from her ankles as the tendrils grabbed her by the legs mid air, and started to wrench them apart.
Michelle briefly blush at the compromising position of hanging my her ankles and having her legs spread for her, then started to shout as the demon just kept pulling, threating to rip her in half like a wishbone after thanksgiving dinner.
“FUCK FUCK!!!” Michelle screamed and twisted, trying to pull her legs back together. She saw Kate trying to get close, but having a hard time of it with Vesta’s other limbs and tendrils to contend with. Michelle tried firing off spells at the thing, but it didn’t seem to do much more than bounce off, she used an augmentation spell to strengthen her own body, but even that had limited effect as she winced in pain from having her legs pulled so hard in different directions.
Then she saw something odd. Kate skittered back from the demon, and did a handstand. Michelle even briefly forgot about the pain in her hips as Kate dug her fingers into the metal floor from her weird inverted position. Michelle was about to say something when suddenly she and the demon were rising into the air, or rather falling. The former ceiling rushed up to greet them and Michelle cried out as she landed on a girder and bounced onto the new ‘floor’. Luckily for her Vesta had let go for a second and she managed to kick her way to some distance.
Once she had some range she looked up to where Kate was ‘hanging’ from the ‘roof’ and called out, “How the HELL did you do that!”
“I think I can bend this place. Its Kind of in my mind right?”
“So, you can just change gravity?”
“Yes. I think it’s also why magic doesn’t work right. It’s basically ALL magic in here, physical spells aren’t going to work right in a mental space.”
“So, what do we do!”
“Just keep it busy for me!”
Michelle gulped as the demon thing that was Vesta stood up, its body looked somehow even more horrifying, and… like it had grown even more limbs. It stood on multiple legs with terrifying looking bladed tentacles. Horns and teeth glistened and its claws cracked with anger.
“Ok big guy... girl… whatever…” Michelle said, “Mistress says fight you. So, bring it.”
And Vesta brought it.
Michelle pushed her body as hard as she could to keep a step ahead, ignoring spellcasting and just focusing on moving. She tried to will herself to go faster, and for her pursuer to go slower and it seemed to have some effect. She dodged out of the way of impossibly fast attacks like Neo himself.
That said, dodging something that was shredding whole support girders and launching a dozen blows a second was always going to be a losing prospect. The more supports that got destroyed the less sturdy the floor-ceiling felt too. What happened if it failed? Would they fall up to the sky? Did this place even have a sky?
Her questions were cut short when something hard closed around her arm, “FUCK!” She shouted as she was yanked hard, swung around by her arm like a rag doll. Vesta smashed her into the floor, the walls, everything around while Michelle tried to right herself with no success. She was pretty sure at one point her face was used as a battering ram to break a metal beam.
Thank god for her sturdiness in the place, she thought, but it still hurt, and as more semi metallic black scaled lings grabbed her other arm and her leg and pulled she started to wish that being smashed through an I-beam had just been lethal. She screamed as she was once again pulled into a split, but this time with her arms as well.
“Got you, you stupid little slut” Vesta growled, “You have defied me for the last time, my little toy.”
Michelle winced, “F-fuck … you…”
“Don’t mind if I do.”
Michelle shrieked as something that was very much not made for purpose rammed itself up into her. First one opening, then another, exploded in pain. She thrashed helplessly and spasmed hard but could move barely more than an inch held stretched like she was.
“Do us both a favor and just break” Vesta said, “I was looking forward to lovingly snapping your mind over the course of months, but I have another bitch to deal with so just make it easy and give up your will now.”
The pain suddenly got worse, the intruders downstairs began to move fast and hard, and on top of that Vesta had started twisting Michelle’s arms and legs hard; bending them to the point that bones just had to be breaking. More tendrils grabbed onto her at random, metal barbs forcing their way through her skin all across her body. She screamed and demonic hands grabbed her mouth, one on the upper jaw and one on the lower and began to force her maw wider, pulling and stretching and threatening to rip her lower jaw off.
She couldn’t deal with this. It was too much, too fast. She begged internally to just make it stop and began to feel herself drifting away. The pain began to lessen. She didn’t feel the violation as acutely, she just wanted to sleep, to rest after this. So long as it stopped. But it didn’t, it wouldn’t, not ever again.
She barely even noticed as gravity flipped again and she and vesta crashed back to the floor, shrapnel and shredded metal landing all around them. The tentacles and other limbs that had a hold of her stopped their horrific attentions, though Michelle was almost too numb to notice. She barely managed to even rise a single eye to look at the metal monstrosity that had severed the demonic limbs. They were still wrapped around her body, but separated from their owner they lay limp.
Michelle only got one look at the metallic ‘thing’ that had saved her. It seemed that while she was focusing on playing ‘matrix’ and staying ahead of Vesta that way, Kate was being a bit more cyberpunk and was repurposing this mental ‘factory’ into a new kind of body, something that rivalled Vesta in size and looked ready for war.
