I feel I should explain here, Koi and I do obedience classes (IBGH). In level 2, he has to bring a big wooden dumbell back to me. We have been struggling with the fact he loves to chew wood and has destroyed 2 dumbells already with his chewing despite my attempts to fix it. I was recommended to buy a 1kg for him as the weight should cause him to hold it tightly and not chew.
Result? Success! I also think the bar is too large for him to dig the big chompy back teeth in, so he is unable to damage the bar like before (his teeth can go through wood very quickly), I have been overjoyed as the chewing problem has been going for a year (he has progressed in the year but it only takes a couple of cheeky chomps to shred the wood and then the splinters are dangerous) and needed to draw out my happiness.
