mhmm. its just, unfair. I guess. And expensive. Like other people dont have to spend hundreds of dollars on blood work a year. But I do. Why? What did I do to deserve this? Nothing! it's just random! smh.

You don't deserve it. None of us do. Being sick is really awful. I wish there was more understanding around it. You're really strong to keep fighting even though it IS unfair and does suck so much.

I'm lucky enough to be in Canada but not all my meds are covered. Thyroid cancer diagnosis in 2020 was 0/10 (i'm cleared for now at least). Also got my adhd diagnosis in 2021 at 38. 'Tis lame.

Yea my issue is comparatively much easier. Glad you're doing better!
I have Hashimoto's Hypothyroid, my brain decided my thyroid had to die when I was around 12 and produced immune cells to kill it.
I just need to be on synthroid for life. Which isn't a big deal! Or- shouldn't be!
If blood work didn't cost a goddamn fortune.
The last set I got was $1,400 when they quoted me $200. (:
I found a cheaper place to get it, but it's fucked up that they can just lie (Or be very inept) and I have no recourse.

And yeah... ADHD lol. That's a thing I simply cannot afford to deal with either.... and IBS...which increases my risk for colon cancer that I cant afford to screen for...

My thyroid cancer involved a hemithyroidectomy so also team synthroid 4 life. Also on cytomel because my T3 and T4 are fubar -_- I gained 50lbs in 3 months after the surgery because they didn't think i'd need thyroid support....

and ibs sucks. also on the high risk for colon cancer team. but cuz of genetics, it took my grandma so in a few years i gotta get my scope done. not looking forward to it.
