Part 4 of Arc 1: The First Adventure of Maverick the Dragon. Brace yourselves—Lore bomb and bombshells imminent.
Previously: Maverick and Manes journey to Maverick's former home of Sapphire Falls Castle for uncertain unfinished business on the once future prince's part. Unaware of the friendly duo, Sqwire 66 was skulking behind them, planning to ambush them. Once they arrive at the now dilapidated castle, Maverick and Manes search around Maelstrom's study and stumble upon a blue heptagonal gem. Before they could examine it further, Sqwire 66 put their plan into motion and got the jump on them. As Manes gets to safety, Maverick holds his own against the battalion of Lesser Sqwires but is apprehended by Sqwire 66. In an attempt to help out his friend, Manes trips up the Elite Sqwire, freeing Maverick from their grasp. Determined to put an end to Knightfall's tyranny, Maverick unknowingly taps into the blue gem's power and evens the playing field—turning the Lesser Sqwires to scrap and leaving Sqwire 66 damaged. Fearing for their safety, the Elite Sqwire reports to retreat and does so. Upon returning to Knightfall Tower, Sqwire 66 notifies his master of his findings. Rather than putting them out of their misery, Knightfall contacts the lab to have his loyal servant repaired. When alone, Knightfall enters the power room of his tower, revealing that he has a similar gemstone to Maverick's, only it's purple. What could this mean: could there be more than one of these seven-sided gemstones? Find out now.
