The first of many plants in my world. A random assortment from parasitic to edible berries & gourds.
Plant 1: Alloga kuko ("enticing cake" in Esperanto) Tulip-like flower with transparent glowing teal sugary, gelatinous liquid in center that attracts animals to drink, exposing reproductive parts which are carried in the mouth to other plants. Will attach to inside of mouth and incubate in the warm, moist environment until meeting another plant. Smells as sweet as it tastes, like gardenia/fresh baked cake.
Plant 2: Sangonki (blood + drink in Esperanto) Incredibly sticky, stinky tendrils attract scavengers and feed from their blood through thousands of tiny, razor-sharp needles, usually penetrating the tongue. It releases when full, with the animal undamaged, and even secretes a healing, numbing liquid before release.
Plant 3: Kukuzi (gourd + use in Esperanto) Gourd that tastes like a cross between very flavorful pumpkin and savory, spicy mushrooms with a hint of sweetness. If left to overripe, the sweetness intensifies and becomes especially useful in desserts. Common food for Langurhali. Large, easy & quick to grow, and versatile. Ripe when leaves begin to try & tendrils on top turn bright yellow from orange. Red bulb on top is deeply flavorful and treated as a rare delicacy as it it never grows larger than a chicken egg. Leaves are incredibly tough and when dried can be used as a variety of tools, from rope to mats. Gourd can also be dried and used as an instrument or storage container for many years.
Plant 4: Cievelo ("everywhere iewel" in Esperanto) Berry plant that gathers water in the top of the "stump". Water turns sweet when plant doesn't need to absorb it, which many animals like to drink, so it doesn't turn stagnant. Berries taste like sweet hibiscus tea with a spicy hint. Common and quick-spreading. Used in many dessert recipes.
