Its that time of the year again. Panto season! And this year the Lil'Fur Players are performing Panto Classic Cinderella! Cinderella is traditionally performed this year, like Jack and the Beanstalk, the Ugly Sisters are traditionally performed by actors in drag, like The Dame in other pantomimes.

Once upon a time, long long ago... A poor landowner called Baron Von Hardup had three daughters. His youngest daughter was the beautiful Cinderella, or Cinders for short. He had two ugly sisters who were spoilt, rotton to Cinders and the worst looking hags in the kingdom! Their names were Measles and Rubella. Despite how hard her life is, Cinders has a best friend, who is groomsman and servant to the Hardups, his name was Buttons.

Near where the Hardups lived was a splendid castle where the King and his son Prince Charming lived. The king noticed the Prince's happy and fun loving attitude. He thought to himself:

"This is my son, a prince, happy and carefree? I haven't had nannies and governesses to bring him up to be happy and carefree. I'll soon put a stop to that!"

The king summoned the prince to the throne room, and decreed that he shall be married!

"I don't want to be married! I'm a happy bachelor!" whinged the prince.

"You're a prince and you need a princess. To find your bride I will hold a ball, with the best caterer and DJ in my kingdom!"

"What a Hardcastle!" frowned the prince. (It's obscure, but there's a joke there! xD)

Soon the invitations were sent through the town and country, and three of them arrived at the Hardup's house. Cinderella's ugly sisters saw they have been invited but when they saw Cinderella's invitation, they screwed it up and put it in the bin, before they headed out to Jarrod's store.

Meanwhile, while helping Cinders clean the kitchen, Buttons noticed the invitation the ugly sisters threw away. Buttons showed Cinders, and she was so excited that she decided to make a dress for herself, and Buttons was only to eager to help.

The 2 friends worked hours and didn't have the best material, but after all their hard work the dress was finished and both Buttons and Cinders admired the beautiful finished product. However, soon the ugly sisters arrive, saw the dress and ripped it in two!

"You shan't go to the ball!" they shouted before throwing the torn dress outside and got ready to go to the ball.

Poor Cinders cried, and though Buttons did his best to comfort his best friend, Cinders just wanted to lie down before she had to finish her chores before the Ugly Sisters get back. Buttons stayed in the house to keep Cinders company, but soon spotted a light outside. Buttons rushed to the door and opened it and saw a beautiful fairy!
