In this particular instance, I think it is rather important to the rest of the group. If only by presumption that slaying the dragons will fix the curse. They are critically lacking the meta knowledge in this regard. That said, your probably right, their borked until Sheogorath loses interest.

I was playing WoW years ago and one of my friends asked for my help with a quest, but seemed vague on the details. I didn't have a mount with the char I was playing, and at the time they weren't that far away. So I started walking toward them.
But the further I walked, the more they seemed to be moving AWAY from me.
Before I had a chance to catch up to them, they had already completed the quest they said they needed my help with, and what's worse is that they were right next to a flight point. I could have flown to them if they'd just said so. I felt like doing to them what is happening in the illustration above.
...a few days later I received a message explaining that it hadn't actually been my friend, but their little brother. I still felt like doing that to them... [/facepalm]

i get the feeling most just fight the first dragon then just Yeet the main quest, others would just get the full unrelenting force shout then just drop the main quest, ether way i bet money the main quest has only been completed a handful of times per person compared to every other side quest.
Ok, gonna be fair, the moments of side quests will sidetrack many even the most direct gamers and can get distracted by side quests and short fetch quests. Its funny how that made this party mad since we literally got the call to arms and duty. But i fear when the time comes for a certain induvial to show up, would our Nordic lady....behave herself?
