 You would never leave the Wood, your heart trembling, tucked into a corner. The branches closed overhead, blocking the sky, and with every step the thicket grew denser.

And who knows what would have become of you if not for the beast that appeared out of nowhere. Enormous and menacing, it loomed over you like a great shadow. The heavy scent of pine hit your nose... and the fear suddenly receded.



You felt its fur under your hand. A vaguely familiar feeling flashed through your mind. You had never seen it before, but you instantly recognized it now, sensing an invisible connection.



...Your astral beast strode confidently forward, and you hurried after it, clutching its branched mask with your hands. The trees parted. You didn't even notice when the sun began to light up the soft moss beneath your feet again. You didn't yet know when the darkness would be left behind forever, but you felt in your heart that now you had nothing to fear.
