Yeah... a funny accident happened between Rocket and Boomer... Nothing beyond professional relationships...
Yesterday i finally played Marvel Cosmic Invasion and the most surprising thing was Rocket and Jeff being with Brute Force without any reference to the guardians of the galaxy. (well, at least Dr Echo, Lionheart and Boomer... i guess Wolverine/Captain America: Weapon + is canon in Cosmic Invasion universe...).
But yeah, go and play Cosmic Invasion, is a really fun game!

Brute Force is a team consisted of eco-sensitive animals who were imbued with the ability to speak and powered armor that gave them special powers by their benefactor Dr. Randall Pierce as part of Weapon II.
So techically yeah, Rocket and Brute Force have something in common.
Marvel created them because they really wanted to make their own toys just like Hasbro with Transformers and GI Joe (which Marvel helped for the first comic series).
