:D so, this is an adopt i been thinking about for ages, i bought her some time back and just wasnt sure what to even do with lore.

obviously im tossing her into the Joys Mythos, at this point its become a grab bag of ideas i can do stuff with.

UwU; tho if yur looking to get into it, iiiii think its due for a second draft. need to make it less dour and dismal.

The Colorado Crater Lands

the biggest hit area during the Fall of the Satellites in 2236

wrecks and ruins, scavanged and salvaged by the survivalists and first responders of nearby territories.

the damage was immense, but through time and care it was restored to a hopeful spirit of its former self, full of communities dedicated to helping others, fellowship, and marvelling at the stars.

leading the charge was the Fallen Star Knights, who harvested Old World technology from the fallen sattelites to forge armors, weapons, and tools. they became the knight errands of this territory, defending the weak in the name of chivalry.

in their base, made from the remains of a fallen Space Station, their greatest scientific minds work to construct technologies that will help mankind push themselves into the further future of progress.

here we see one of them, a quiet and aloof knight of science by the name Lyra Nariah.

her specialty was cybernetics, a common enough field in the modern age of the 2280's. but hers held a focus on perfectly synchronized mech suits, designed to work in true unison with their user. an extension of the self.

she would end up putting her work to the ultimate test, as an explosion from a harsh battle left her limbs in dissaray.

she put her work to the test, insisting her body be installed in a modified suit based on one of her prototype schematics.

the work was haphasard to start with, and a hellish experience inside. she insisted on keeping her limbs for as long as she could, before amputation.

the original suit hooked up to various points to read muscle signals and motor function, with injectors to maintain numbness, decent anti-biotic application, and disinfectants.

to say this left Lyra in a sickly state is more a lie than an understatement, the trauma and constant risk of infection nearly killed her. but every bit of research data was saved.

she had every intent to finish the work herself, once the agony of recovery had mostly settled, but luckily the most brilliant mind of their order came to her aid to finish her project.

4 amputated limbs and many hours of surgical and engineering effort later, each joint point of her torso had been modified with a disk that could interlock with a robotic limb.

these, with some work, could connect to receptors in a more efficient Mark 1 unit for her master work, codenamed, Athena.

Lyra was never one to depend on others, so giving up mobility completely outside of the suit was a massive adjustment. but she and her colleages agree she can stay inside the suit during ANY journeys outside the base itself.

her superior, codenamed Romulus Pendragon, the very same man who helped complete her lifes work, recognizes her desire to remain unseen by others. apparently in the Old World it was more commonly known as Autism.

these days, she's practically married to the Athena Suit, refusing to leave it beyond pure necessity and sleep.

its only real drawback is power, requiring a nuclear battery to even function. but at least creating those isnt toooo difficult for their order.

such problems would be solved in the late 2280's, when the return of local hero Steve Smolder, came with the discovery of a treasure trove of useful technologies.

with the potential for possibly ENDLESS power, Lyra can scarcely imagine EVER being outside of the Athena Suit.

... though she still enjoys being bathed, so perhaps human flesh has SOME benefits.

(i like to imagine she has a friend with benefits who bathes her daily, though i havent thought of any lore for HER yet.)

((i know i COULD say she has water resistant limbs that make bathing easier. but.... its cute to imagine a limbless amputee with a love for transhumanism and robots trusting herself to someone loving and patient <3))
