The Mothra line is an ancient divine moth kaiju which is unique in that they do not require hosts but instead form psychic links with members of the Fritz/Reiss bloodline, typically passing from generation to generation.

Frieda Reiss was the most recent inheritor of the guardianship after her uncle, Uri Reiss, stepped down due to diminishing health. Frieda took to the Mothra twin larvae quickly and the bonds became strong.
Unfortunately, both Frieda and one of the larvae were killed in a preseumed assasination plot.

The surviving larva went into suspended animation soon after the death of its sibling, awaiting the next Reiss heir.
