I'd imagine that if you suddenly got double the vision after not having it even once your whole life that it'd be VERY disorienting. So much so that its basically sensory overload.
On a separate note, I really hope this one is just trying to help and accidentally messed up. I mean, we are dealing with cosmic/eldritch creatures right? They'd not exactly... knowledgeable (for lack of a better word) when it comes to mortals.
