I've already drawn Janice meeting Jasper, but that event happened after this one. So I give you Janice befriending Annie.
Annie (real name Anastasia) was always eager to make new friends, but had little to no success doing so. This was because she tended to switch between speaking English and Russian, only because she didn't understand some English. Despite the language barrier, her mother Irina encouraged her to not give up.
One day as Rudolph, Janice and Hermey were hanging out together, they came across Annie and Irina. "How about that, Janice? It seems we have new neighbors. I suggest you make friends with that fawn", Rudolph said. Janice was rather unsure as she was quite shy about meeting new people or deer, but she gave it a go anyway. Janice approached Annie slowly when Annie took notice. And in Russian, Annie said «Привет. Меня зовут Энни. Мы с мамой недавно переехали в город. А как вас зовут?» Janice just stood there in confusion and silence. "Uh, what was that?" Annie said, "Извините. Я двуязычный. Я немного говорю по-английски, но в основном говорю по-русски." Janice was still puzzled as she turned her attention to Hermey and said "Uncle Hermey?" "I'm sorry, kiddo. I'm not very fluent in Russian I'm afraid." Rudolph stepped in and said "It's okay, Janice. I've been to Russia before and I know some of that language. She's saying her name is Annie, she and her mother are new to town and she's asking what your name is. Also, she says she's bilingual." "Ahh, I see", said Janice. She then introduced herself to Annie. "Hello" she said. "My name is Janice. And this is my dad Rudolph and my uncle Hermey." "It's a pleasure to meet you all." Annie said in English. Janice responded "It's a pleasure to meet you too." Annie spoke in Russian again as she said "Тебя бы не беспокоило, если бы я все еще говорил по-русски, не правда ли?" After Janice gave another confused stare, Rudolph translated "She asked if you wouldn't mind if she still spoke Russian, would you?" "No, not at all." Janice responded. "I'm sure we can make this work. This language barrier can't possibly stop us from being friends. I can teach you English and you can teach me Russian. What do you say?" Annie didn't say anything. She just responded by giving Janice a hug, happy to have successfully made a friend. And Janice was so happy, her nose started glowing, much to Annie's shock. "Quite a strange sight, is it? It's okay, it's not radioactive. I got this from my dad", said Janice.
Since that day, Annie and Janice have been great friends. And like the great friends they were, they helped each other understand their languages.
