I'm gonna theorize on what may or may not happen next.
Millie: Uh, if I may teacher... Fay is kinda exhausted from yesterday's chaos and this is her first day as well as mine.
Teacher: And who may I ask are you?
Millie: I'm Millie, and I'm the Principal's daughter.
Teacher: Oh, well how come I've never seen you before?
Millie: My mom had me homeschooled most of my life. But my mom has vouch for her, so please go easy on her, okay?
Teacher: Hmm... Very well, Miss Fay was it? I'll let it slide, just this once. But next time, I expect to see you dressed appropriately, do I make myself, clear?
Fay: Yes, ma'am!
Teacher: All right, then. Now class, as I was saying. Please turn to page-
That's about as far as I'll go for now.

I mean while I understand the whole policy thing, for one, nealy NOBODY actually follows those and since chasing every single infractor is tiring af , the teachers find it easier to just go for the most "high offense" ones and singling them out, which honestly is complete bs. Either you enforce the rules on everyone or you don't on anyone, that's pretty much the only way it can be fair
