I was watching some old 1940s Mickey Mouse cartoons, recently. Disney just hit a point where their shorts films were, dare I say BETTER looking than even their movies in both artwork and animation.
Maybe it's just because the Mickey characters' art styles were all so down pat. But anyway, Mickey and Minnie got a few design upgrades, most of which lasted for about a decade, some of which, lasted forever, and two of which, lasted exactly two shorts. One being the 3Dimensional ears, with the bluish inner ear, and the other being Mickey's added rodent style buck teeth.
There were other design changes, including proportion changes, and coloring, and there were more than a few experimental variations that happened both before and 1941, but I've put together all my favorite design elements to create a kind of ultimate Mickey & Minnie. Hollywood's real first power couple.
