Nograd was a normal, dumb kobold that lived in a cave system with his kobold horde, and they believed that dragons sacrified themselves for saving the world from total destruction from an unseen enemy. These kobolds is one of the "blessed" races in his world, as the world is always covered in ash and gloom, perfect for kobolds with sunlight sensitivity and darkvision, which in turn, they also think they are blessed thanks to their old dragon masters.

One day, Nograd found a shiny book in the forest and, of course, he picked it up and brought it back to the horde. The elders, reading the book with horrified faces, threw the book away with Nograd out of the horde, calling him heretic. He didn't know why they were so angry, and because his confusion was genuine, they gave him a chance to "redeem" from his heresy: He needs to travel around the world, praying in the ruined churches of the Faaldovkin Junaar to purify him and the book.

As he sets out on his journey, he can't help but open the book and read the pages, and then... a flood of information drowns his brain. The truth of this world... dragons destroyed this world, but at the same time, saved it. The enemy is still out there, sealed, as it is an enemy that transcends planes of reality and it can't be killed that easily.

The dumb Nograd quickly closed the book, as he felt overwhelmed at all the information, but as he does that, he feels the presence of something... a dark shadow emerges from the book, and looks at him.

"Looks like you will be my new champion." The shadow says. "You know what is at stake, and I will teach you how to wield magic... as long as your desire to save this world stays strong."

He quickly starts training with the shadow's help, and thanks to it, he becomes more powerful than a normal kobold sorcerer. He also felt the book was very important, more than the kobold elders thought. He chained the book to his back as the shadow explained what it really is.

"You can't let anyone else read this book. It could be the end of this world if it fell into wrong hands... as it is the World Chronicle, all the real history of this world is written here... up until the death of it."

He's a small magical kobold! A bit dumb (kinda like Guilmon) but luckily he has his shadow familiar for helping him!
And maybe some of the familiar will rub off into him... for the better or worse.
He's also part of Aeren's world, maybe they will meet someday?
