In the mists between Planes, Realms, and Dimensions, an inventor of some repute gathered marble, copper, silver, electrum, and gold - forging each through heavily modified plans taken right from Mechanus. A grant was given from cunning mind to his deft hands, all for the creation of something miraculous - something that would bridge the gap between Divine and Mortal.
And yet, this great ambition, no matter how exquisite and refined - ultimately fell to greater and greater promise and lesser and lesser result. Money became sparse. Cracks could no longer be mended with new stone, but the very material that once went into forging intricate and delicate clockworks.
The result? A prototype "divine conduit" that's been sent on a test-run - now used mostly to fund her creator, who not only burned all of his grant money (and getting himself ejected from Strixhaven), but also basically having gotten himself removed from a bunch of Temples after begging for money. It falls on "Sirius" now to continue his work - partially doing it for his sake as he was last seen petitioning Beshaba, Goddess of Bad Luck.
To quote:
"Bold as he is to keep treading on the toes of the Gods, the last thing my inventor needs is more bad luck. Somebody's got to stop him."The backpack is effectively a receiver for the weave/divine energy, and depending on who she's receiving it from this week, the colour will change within. Any damage taken is mended with molten gold, which forms intricate webbing along her form.
