A commission from Quantumdragon for a story he's writing. During one of her random reality jumps Three ends up in a futuristic earth setting where she is promptly captured by slavers. They find themselves dealing with someone who doesn't speak their language and who just won't break.
Bloodstrype and Solarflare invade to take the slavers out, only to find Three in the cargo hold. She's freed one of her hands and is defiantly showing her claws. Solarflare has taken her helmet off and is trying to talk her down and convince her that this is a rescue.
This image bothered some of the folks on the stream which actually made me kind of happy because it meant that the mood and Three's expression hit exactly the way I intended it to. And to those of you who are worried, remember that she's getting rescued, and she's been through worse.

Bruised, battered, scraped up, naked, chained, mentally and emotionally grilled, and yet still dangerously defiant.
Makes me wonder just what she's been through to help her build up that kind of courage and determination. I can see it in her eyes.
(BTW--you're still a strong inspiration and reference for me on how to properly draw facial expressions!)

Ah, point. Slavers are an unsubtle lot. To break the high-spirited only requires full knowledge of their private wounds, those places where they are most vulnerable.
...I know someone who's an expert at that. Thankfully, I've got him quarantined in a box in my head. =P I don't let him out much.
