People ask for advice about learning to draw and so I decided to post this again.
THE CHART!
Make a month to month chart and pick areas you want to grow in.
When you study you are copying. Which is to say you are inserting new information in your noggin.
Now if you suck at lets say ..."hands" then make hands a category. This list can change over time so don't worry about taking on boring subjects.
My list here actually consists of mostly human subjects.
X=5
Pick a category and every time you draw 5 of a subject mark a "X" chances are good the more X's you have the better you will get.
Copy other artists/photos. If you think you will learn art from scratch that's like saying I will build a car without using any previous designs....good luck.
If you want to challenge yourself then copy 4 things then put away all reference and see what you picked up.
In time your needs and chart will change but try simple things just to see that you can learn.
BUY BOOKS
See my Journals for art books. Try to buy one art book a month visits to book stores are fun.
--Photo references-- like cheap coffee table books.
--anatomy books-- some are actually geared towards comic books.
--Comic trade paperbacks-- find a artist you wanna learn from.
--How to draw-- anything nowadays.
BE SURE TO READ THE BOOKS!!! don't just look at the pictures. Look into art theory as well as copying.
Keep your mood good and your attitude light. Otherwise negativity will build up like a unflushed toilet.
If you follow this I can guarantee art block will never happen. I always thought art block was when the ideas run out.
Don't shy away from new subjects like a wimp. Take it on.

Great idea, dude! That's an excellent way for me to control my practice time (since I've been learning by myself).
I only would suggest a category of real animals/non-anthro furry (I just don't know if this can be included in the non-furry work).
Thanks a lot for the chart!

I should do this yes but I dont think I have time to draw stuff I suck at cause I'm using too much time drawing stuff I suck less at and behind deadlines too. Seems machines would be a good thing to start working on but it seems that can only be done well with a drafting set, a calculator and about 3 rulers and 5 hours in just measuring @,@
Mickel, your art shows me that you are capable of anything with drawing.
Try this
Cartoons-
Male Anatomy-
Female Anatomy-
Panels-
When you draw something. Draw a subject 3xs and find some improvements each time.
Go to the book store and start looking at a few books. Then READ!!!!
Its not just mindless copying its also about thinking.

Aw, thanks. :)
And yeah, I need to get back to anatomy studies. I was taking nude drawing all autumn but I felt it didn't yield anything more after a while. The mind gets full after a while, it needs time to process all the info, I guess. Also I was depressed.
Panels, definitely. Just drawing straight lines, curves and circles should be good practice for me I feel. I need to get steadier on the hand.
