Let's welcome the first member of the guild: Ash! =)
Ash's story:
"Ash the Mage comes from a family of kobolds that have been voluntarily serving under a benevolent brass dragon for generations in a large city in the desert. During her service to the dragon, Ash was put in charge of the dragon's library, which contained many magic tomes. When she was not organizing the books, she would read the tomes, fascinated by the idea of magic. The dragon took note her interest and gave her several tests to determine if was capable of being a mage, which she easily passed. Knowing that having a court mage would be far more useful than a librarian, the dragon arranged for her to attend an academy in [city in the background of her profile] on the condition that Ash return some day to serve once more.
Ash struggled with at first in the academy, lonely and in unfamiliar surroundings, but succeeded through her voracious reading and a strong desire to perform her best for the dragon. Her professors and eventual friends learned that she wore a modest attitude that belied her sharp intelligence. Ash graduated with honors and joined the local mage's guild to increase her real-word experience. She earned some money, which allowed her to buy nice gear and fanciful clothes, but also sent some back to the dragon as proof she was succeeding. As she worked with the mage's guild, she learned that the majority of their tasks and quests are routine and boring (to her), so she started looking for opportunities that could provide more excitement.
Eventually she learned of the Guild of Extraordinary Tasks when rumors of a makeshift stall reached the mage's guild. While some of the other mages laughed, Ash was eager to find new and larger challenges to expand her knowledge even more. More knowledge would allow her to serve her dragon even better (plus the extra renown and gold wouldn't hurt). Ash sought out directions to the sergal's stall with fee in hand, and happily signed her name to the charter."
