You travel ever onward, marveling at the cold of the desert night and lamenting the inevitable heat as sunlight breaks the horizon, creating an ocean of glittering grains with sandstone reefs. The sound of sand shifting and a flash of copper catches your attention, a great reptilian head rises from the scattered stone and dry vegetation, pale blue and lavender flashing across the pearly white throat, leading your eyes to the rest of it's form...
A dragon, mere meters away.

You remain rooted in place, watching as the beast stretches the stiffness of sleep from each limb, ripples of color across the scaled hide so mesmerizing you realize too late you've forgotten to hide....A great blue eye, pupil rimmed with gold, is fixed upon you, unblinking.

Time moves agonizingly slow, every heartbeat vivid and loud until...the beast *chuffs*.
The great eye rolls lightly at you, and the dragon settles herself to basking. She's decided you're not enough meal for the effort.
