He gets his name from the obvious scar from a deep cut he got during some play fighting as a little kid. Never healed quite right. Not a fan of Humans and their pesky noise and such.

Red Fang is one of the offspring of a pack of raptors that were used and abused by the United States Government in extensive tests trying to use Raptors for military use in the 1950-1960s

After a few deaths and critical failures in the years of trials, the US Gov't gave up on the project and the raptor pack as deemed unsafe to release back into the wild and spared of culling due to the early 'Saurian Activist" movement. They had been held in some questionable states until the facility of Santiago Valley Institute was built to where the pack was transfer.

Living conditions within SVI were especially delicately curated for the group due to the history of mistreatment and their distaste of Humans. SVI has spent decades trying to rehabilitate the pack to limited success. Prior to their breakout in 2015, the pack only have allowed the 'privilege' of a few staff members to even operate within and around the paddock. Their securement is one of the leading tasks of the Santiago Valley Security department.

After the passing of his parent figures, Red Fang eventually would become leader of the slowly growing pack. While not the strongest of the bunch, he seems to be the most intelligent, observed displaying complicated organization within the pack and with their resources.
