It wasn’t hard for Copeland to find where they were. Devon screamed in agony, presumably from being injected with the play. Copeland stopped at the doorway, and readied her gun. Peeking through a crack in the door, she saw Marshal on his knees, trying to help a writhing vixen on the floor. Her grip on the pistol tightened, but she kept her feet to the ground. She tried to hold back a cough as the virus spiked her from the inside.
As it got worse, she covered her mouth and looked back; Tiger Eyes couldn’t be far behind her. Still waited, waited till she saw her friends… saw one of her friends… Heard one of her friends…
The wait was getting unbearable, but Copeland stayed put and watched from the shadows, remembering what happened last time. It was something she started to question, she saw them soon grab Marshal and pull him away from Devon. He struggled, but there was more muscle on him than he could force back. They dragged him over to a red, chalk circle, and the hooded figure held another one of those syringes while standing there.
Copeland’s breath got faster, and she had a hand on the door. By gritting her teeth and gripping her gun, she was barely keeping back. Then she heard people coming, full speed. Tiger Eyes and Circuit Grit came running down. Circuit had a canister in one hand, and a gun in the other. Tiger Eyes held another two lanterns as she came running up.
Copeland had her back up, she stood up and kicked the doors open.
The criminals looked to her, and the canister rolled into the room. Before Copeland could move in, a hand wrapped around her head and pushed a bit, Just as the canister exploded with an immensely bright light. When it passed, Copeland only heard ringing as the hand left her face, But she saw just about everyone who entered the room was flailing and holding their faces.
The lanterns that were carried in were being thrown all around the room, shadows fading as each one was tossed in. Copeland recalled the plan and took out her lantern too; lighting it up and throwing it to a dark corner of the room.
“Kill the lights!” The shadow figure commanded, backing up from the doors.
Two of the henchmen ran for the lanterns on the floor, then the window near them crashed open. Angel swooped in and kicked one of the men down in her landing, and then got the other to back off with a wild swing of her hand.
A fight broke out, and there was no spot of the darkness to run for now.
