That's pretty scary - what's worse is that I can do that with alot of artists in fandom. There are a few newer, more recent artists I can't do that with, or artists I haven't seen alot of work from, though.

In all honesty, girlfriends and boyfriends are overrated. I'd rather have a handful of good friends over one boyfriend/girlfriend any day.

You don't have to stay strong or be brave or anythign like that... I would say have faith but it's different for each person, you know the best thing for you - so do that.

I feel just like that picture says right now. None of this "having freinds is good" bullshit makes anyone feel better.

Thanks for all the wonderful replies everyone. I wanted the emotion to come out of this drawing and speak for those of us who are still single and feel the lonliness this holiday brings us. I felt that way when I drew it 6 years ago and although it would be nice to have someone closer to me than my friends, I am not so concerned about it any more.

My father found his second wife at 65 and they lived happily till death did them part and it was like watching a couple of 16 year olds (kind-a disturbing actually but sweet). The best advice I have received is don't go looking for it or you may find something that really isn't there. Enjoy life and if love happens it happnes.
