Gator Tattoo Concept
I promise I really am working on commissions too! >.< This just happened during warmups today...
My dad asked me to design a tattoo for him last time he came to visit me. He's been pestering me on and off for years, but I've never felt sure enough in my art to do something to put on someone else's flesh! But I figured I would do something stylized and see how it came out. What do you think? Obviously this is just a rough sketch >.<

Will scrap when I upload the finished piece!

thanks! I really appreciate your comments since I know you have more knowledge than I do about tattoo concepts XD My dad said that he was thinking about getting it on his upper arm or shoulder, so I don't think I have to worry about it being tiny... Although now looking at it again, I see spots that need to be fixed! XD
Also remember, individual details don't need to be made, for the spikes on the back all you'd need would be the top little round, the artist fills in the details with color. :3 Make sure you have a clean lined and a colored reference (if your getting it colored) for the artist to make sure they do their job correctly, i've seen some horrid tattoos from peoples drawings >W<
just for future reference :3 great job thought!

I think he's getting it just lines... I'm not sure though... I've made a lot of changes since this picture already, so it's certainly not ready yet! XD I left the bottom rounds as a stylistic choice since I think it's just going to be lines, but what do you think? I also just talked to my dad and he's getting it smaller than I thought, so I'm going to have to lose some detail in the head I think... I told him we would have to talk to the artist and work with them to see what changes will have to be made to make my art transfer well to skin XD
Well whatever detail you take out, the artist can simply paint/tattoo in. Best choice is to finish what you have and your doing and then take it to various places, make sure you look at portfolios and ask them to show you some sketch work, you, not your dad, needs to take a look and see if they draw like shit.
If they do, leave, it won't be as good as a real artist, not just a tattoo-er. If not, feel free to tattoo :3
Jeremie miller at 3d ink was amazing, anyone else, i'd stay away from. (i'd call ahead of time)
also stay away from tattoo shops with drug/peircing stuff. They aren't serious about their tattooing.
NEVER TIT FOR TAT
Oh my god.. it's nasty unsterile. Shoulder to shoulder with someone else getting tattooed. just..no

We'll probably be somewhere in Tampa, but thank you! I'm looking to get my own tat up here somewhere, so I'll take a look at his stuff ^.^
And I never would have thought to ask to see some sketches >.< That is brilliant. I'll have to keep that in mind when we go looking at places.
