I am finishing the last two commissions till the end of the year and then I’m done with taking commissions altogether
You’ve been supporting me and helping me pay my bills for 10 freaking years and I felt incredibly lucky I had that opportunity. Thank you all for that, I’ve been crying how grateful I am for that. The kindest, warmest fandom I know, I felt always supported here.
But the last few years it’s been harder and harder and harder for me to get any money here to pay my bills and this summer I just started to live off the debit card.
It’s a cycle: I don’t have money -> I don’t eat enough and always feel unsafe -> i draw very slowly and get too afraid to try something new and experiment as I was years before.
My cup is empty, I’m so tired, I just can’t continue living like this the next year.
I don’t really have a plan. I realized I need to do that this summer, thinking that I want to start my own little brand, and I hoped I will be able to save up before that, but I was only able to pay off some of my bills and for the debit card, which is huge ofc, but I’m still at the zero now.
But I just don’t see another way.
I might come back to commissions only for 600-1000$, man, otherwise it’s killing me.
I know a have a huge potential inside, I love my art that I make when I feel safe and truly express myself. I know it’s absurd I live like this, on 180-300$ a month max to pay for everything, meanwhile 650$ is the standard wage in my country
I know it’s not supposed to be like this and I need to move on, even if it’s scary.
So yeah…. It’s been quite a ride. I wonder how many commissions I did during these years! Many good memories, even now, when I’m so sad and tired
