The Size of a Wish
I was always small, always looking up, wishing I could just be taller. When Lexi appeared, I didn’t even have time to hesitate. I laughed in disbelief as the ground seemed to sink away beneath my feet. At first it was exciting… then confusing. Suddenly I realized I barely fit in my own bedroom. Panic mixed with awe as I tried to curl up, but it didn’t help. My body kept getting bigger, heavier, stronger, far beyond what I imagined. I didn’t just outgrow my island, I outgrew the world. One moment I was towering over the land, the next I was floating in space with the entire planet beneath me. I got my wish… but now I’m a giant, exposed among the stars, wishing I could disappear.
