In order to avoid the cops Veronica and Ignacio started walking home through the old rural highway in complete silence.

It would take them longer this way but there were less chances to bump into the police, and if it happened they’d have more options to hide.

They kept the broom stake in hand in case Max or another vampire appeared.

Ignacio eventually began feeling pain on his leg so Veronica was helping him to walk.
