Sorry for such anger. It's just that I have issues with that guy and that godforsaken episode. I know we have different opinions and I respect that. I couldnt let go of the past to easily when people dismissed my criticism toawrds him.

Because he is such a poorly written and very toxic character. He never puts any effort to impress others and fails to mke Sonic jealous. But he doesnt put any effort to do the fake heroism because he doesnt hide his jerkiness. His attitude is like "I'm too cool to pretend to be a hero." The script thinks Swifty is cool when really he is such a loser with a very bruised ego who harrasses and bullies everyone around him yet the script frames him as being supercool and succesful when really he is not. He never draws the line with his red flag behavior either. And the plot twist so anticlimatic, it's hard to believe Eggman is behind all this. But there is no foreshadow and Eggman is way too funny and Swifty's ego is way too big. Swifty's jerkiness is very downplayed and he never has to face any consequences for his actions and never gets to suffer. Talk about antclimatic. He's not a villain who's a joy to hate. More like, "Ugh why is he there? Go away!" This episode feels like a bad fanfiction and Swifty's also more of a self insert OC written by a bratty kid this pure attitude issues.

Even even poorply and bad villains including oneshot ones exist out there. When I say bad villain. I dont mean bad in a good way. Just bad in a poorly written and frustrating way.

Yes, the Sonic Boom TV show is a charming and fun cartoon. But that episode goes against the show itself and the Sonic franchise in general.

You’re not wrong at all about his personality, and you’ve already acknowledged that he was intentionally written to be a mockery of the quintessential cool guy. Definitely a juvenile perspective of what cool was.

I think, if there is any disagreement between us, is I personally don’t feel it ruined the episode at all. That and him and his duplicates get smashed after the town realizes they’ve been manipulated counts as a reasonable comeuppance.

But then again, if you look at my other works you can probably guess what aspect of the episode made me want to draw him at all.

Forgive me if I come off as condescending, I am genuinely surprised that there could have been so much hate for this character. To me that tells me the writers did there job in making him despicable.

Intentional or not. That doesnt change things. The tone of the script convinces me otherwise. He makes clear he just bullies them right from the start. Being manipulated. More like being harrassed and traumatized. They wrirers did a lousy job at him so I give is a big fat F on the rating. Zero points.. LIke I said, he sucks at being a fraud because he makes very clear not just to hte audience but also characters around. He made them deeply uncomfortable rather than tricking them. To me, there is no self awareness. Its obvious that you seem to downplay his actions.
