This year is slowly coming to an end, which means it's time to look at the summary. I'm very happy that it turned out without any gaps while I was writing my thesis, even though in the spring months I only had semi-sketch references to choose from. I'm not sure if I can say I've grown much in skill this year. I'd probably say I'm a little more confident with the background technique I chose at the end of last year, that's for sure. I'm learning how to fit characters into the background the way I want, how to maintain color balance in the image, and other important things. "Learning" is probably the best word to describe this year; I've been testing out some changes in my approach to detail more than growing in skill. But that's also a good thing; taking a break to grow horizontally rather than vertically is very important for the further growth I hope to achieve next year
