Walking barefoot allows for much quieter movement. Furthermore, bats have exceptionally grippy feet that can hold objects or allow them to cling upside down. Their feet are true "superweapons" that they don't need to cover; even shoes or similar coverings would be impractical if their feet needed to remain free for missions.
Imagine I were a bat; I would use my hands and feet equally. I would have four hands, since bats have a thumb-toe that allows them to use their feet very efficiently and skillfully.

yea! and as a primate i often regret evolving out of prehensile feet :v
[also i work on my setting that has a species of anthro dolphinoids that has prehensile feet that they utilize regularly - to move around underwater infrastructure or piloting vehicles/machines that take extra limbs to operate]

This is so incredibly cool, thanks again! The contrast between the warmth of the city and the cold, bleak mountains was captured so wonderfully. You really get the feeling of urban density, that despite the bleak environment, countless people are living their lives in this city.
I'm so grateful for your amazing work in realizing this environment! I have always struggled with capturing the appearance and feel of the city the way it looks in my head, but you did an amazing job making it all feel coordinated and "real". I will definitely be using this for reference when I draw this environment in the future!
Alex herself looks amazing too! I love how solid and realistic your characters feel. Their bodies and clothes have a sense of weight and "3D-ness" to them that makes them really feel like they exist in a three-dimensional space, not just a flat image on a screen. It's so amazing! I love how you drew her face and the shiny detail on her hair, how her wings fan out behind her, the detail on her knuckles and clothing and the way the light is cast against her as she sneaks around.
Absolutely amazing piece... as always, I am utterly blown away by your work! You are such a uniquely talented artist... I have been active in online artist communities for over 20 years and I really don't know anyone else who draws like you do. The confidence with which you approach these incredibly complex environments is truly amazing!

You do an absolutely amazing job! I'm seriously in awe of your skill! I'd love to someday have even a fraction of your background-rendering skills. ^^ You should absolutely charge more, especially for big scenes like this!
And thank you so much for the kind words about my setting, that means a lot to me to hear~

Yep! She's got wee little piercings along the bottoms of her arms and one big one near the end of her ribcage so that her clothes can be strapped in over her wings. They're small enough and her wings stretch enough that they're not visible unless there's a strap or cord threaded through them to hold them open.
...It's not a perfect solution to the bat-wing-clothing problem, but it's the one I'm goin' with. xP

Another incredible Amaranthine piece, I'm always blown into outer space by the level of detail you put into your backgrounds and this one is no exception. Having Alex there in the darkness and shying away from the illuminated area of Ironfrost(?) is a really lovely, subtle nod to the fact she's a fugitive of justice. Super cool piece and Alex looks fantastic in your style!! The wings especially, I always find it can be tricky to get wings to look natural and not too unwieldy, you nailed them here 😁
