Update 1/25/26: I have changed the head to reflect my more recent sketches, as this is presently the closest I have to a ref.
Introducing Eight, my fursona, and also my me! This is a fairly amateurish sketch, and I may change some design details or proportions down the line... but for now it's what I have, and I'd like you all to see!
I've pulled on characteristics of both microraptor and the larger dromeosaurids here, though microraptor's pulling weight in size. My main intent with the design was to have natural colors for the main body, and brighter, more fantastical colors on the flight feathers and crest.
I can do a bit of flying like this, but I can't hover, or do it for very long. This means I can get up to your level, but I need somewhere to land. Spare a corner of your desk or the back of an arm, if you please!

You look fantastic. I love the contrast between neutral body tones and colourful cresting feathers.
Congrats on a full year of great stories about an equally amazing cast of characters. This is a lovely surprise for the holidays and for (I assume) your last post of the year. Wonderful work, and thank you for sharing it.

It's great to hear that the color scheme looks nice. I mean, it looks nice to me, but having others agree is quite validating.

The collar is cute!!! I love the pink and the big "8" tag.
Also would be a pretty prime shape/size for a harness of some sorts, were one to take her out on walks. And small enough that it could perch on a shoulder!

Oh gosh. I drew her in tack as a private treat, but it doesnt make a ton of sense to have an eight inch raptor in tack.
But a harness? That's quite adjacent, and far more plausible. I... I don't think I have a choice!
And I will also say, I've always loved characters who can perch on a shoulder!
