I think I understand what Forl is going through.
Imua sacrificed both her own memories, and the information on the tablet. She gave everything she had...for him. That puts a LOT of pressure on him to keep her safe, but it's more than that. Forl has seen what Imua suffered through afterwards, so it's entirely understandable that he doesn't want to risk going through anything like that himself.
I imagine he'd see it as not just a single failure, but multiple.
I just hope he can keep himself together, and not allow his fear to override his common sense and love for Imua. Because for as strong as he is, he is *not* as strong as Imua.
And I think he knows it.
