An amphibious alien from a neighboring water planet that's basically just Mars but ocean-clad again and under a different name.

Long ago he received a beacon from Eterra (Earth) that stated something to the effect of "everyone is dead, please archive our memory". He and a good portion of his planet's population rode over atop the Living Continent, to find that everyone was, in fact, not dead.

Said continent now either doesn't want to or can't go back, and so they are bid to coexist with the Eterrans. These terrestrial people have copied his prayer gesture because they think it's funny for some unknowable reason.
