When I was designing this character with the artist, I explained that he’s a brass dragonborn who, thanks to some strange magical effect, ended up oxidized. So even though at first glance he might look like a bronze dragonborn, the lighter tones on his body and his bardic class give away that he’s a bona fide brass dragonborn.

Because he needs to play musical instruments, his nails are short and rounded, and the palms of his hands are smooth skin rather than scales. Compared to other dragonborn, he believes that having a pair of sturdy, well-protected boots is the most important part of traveling, so the soles of his feet are also smooth skin.
