I keep making these, tweaking the pattern a little each time, though you probably can't really tell. This one is based on Wikipedia's scientific illustration of Anomalocaris canadansis. It's another one I've kept, and is sitting next to me right now. <3

While he is out of my budget for now, he absolutely is worth that much. I followed a decently simple pattern making my Great Serpent of Ronka plush and it took me forever not to mention I decided that minky fabric is Satan because of that project.
Also for anyone else reading this who is balking at the price, $200 sounds like a lot, but people need to know how it really breaks down a long time to do plush right. It is a trained skill. My job pays 180 a day, and I only work essentially 8:00 to 4 with 1, or sometimes rarely 2, 50 or so minute breaks. A plush this complicated I’m pretty sure takes more than 6 or 7 hours to make.

Yup, a $200 price is maaaaybe paying me minimum wage, tbh. I mean it depends on how I break down my time, if I don't count any of the promotional effort, talking to customers, etc. It might tick a bit over minimum wage sometimes, but it's probably usually below it, because I take the hit to do what I love for a...mostly living. I'm very glad I have a partner with a Real Job ™. :D
I do think in this case market demand probably isn't there for this to be a viable line for me, alas. There are cases where a market is really under-served and I can get a lot of potential customers, (adult plushes especially, there's a shortage of good custom makers who will do that!) but "bespoke mostly-accurate anomalocaris plushes" aren't a market that really exists, and if you're just an anomalocaris fan in general but not a custom plush fan there are some small-batch makers out there who do very good work for a lower price. I've only bought one so far, but I look at them all the time!

No insulting tone was meant here, and my intent wasn’t trying to saying you had to go offer. I am very sorry if it came off that way. I should have chosen my words better. I just know sometimes people jump in to gripe about prices and I was talking about it in a general fashion.
Poor Anomalocaris deserves more love, such a great lil’ critter. I got into a mock argument with one of my Professors who was like “how could you say it is cute? It was terrifying!”
