I...well yeah I can see how that could happen then...
Hope your recovery goes well!
I see that from a previous response your drawing hand was unharmed. Thats a great bit of luck. At least with possible downtime you will have plenty of time to do art and stuff when you arent resting/recovering!

I did this a year and a half ago, but on the long trip down I got both hands under me, locked one elbow and rolled. Got away with a broken patella, broken wrist, cracked ulna and impinged elbow. It was so unpleasant.
I wish you a rapid recovery and renewed vigilance against sidewalks.

Is it bad that I'm just imagining you take a single step outside your house and then immediately Peter Griffin death posing x3?
Regardless I do hope you recover quickly. How far was the ground that you broke your hand jaw AND ribs? That doesn't sound like your typical tripping over your own foot kind of deal.

Had a very similar injury where I tripped and injured my left hand. Shattered a proximal phalanx into 6 pieces. Took about a year for my hand to close properly and maintain decent grip one the cast was off. I sincerely hope you have a fast recovery. Depending on your situation the physio may suck a lot but push through as best you can.
