This was a surprise Christmas gift from my rubber sister 
. She's always talked about getting me "officially" dressed in bunad when I make the immigration move to Norway and get to celebrate Grunnlovsdagen (Constitution Day). This is celebrated on May 17th; for us American folk, you can think of it as our July 4th equivalent for a national holiday, except from all I've observed and heard about, it's not as obnoxious as July 4th, and complete with national costume.
