Today is the 180th anniversary of the day that the US state of Texas was admitted to the union. Because of this, I chose the date of December 29 as a special day for the island of Taurxas called Taurxan Friendship Day.
Taurxas is an island that I made up myself. Here is the map of the island itself.
Taurxas is a large island, with the northern part of it being a grassland, the western part of it being a desert, the eastern part of it being a forest, the southern part of it being a flatland, and the heart of it being a savanna. The grassland is home to the bluebonnet, the island flower, and the desert is home to the prickly pear cactus, the island plant. Each part of the island has a general store, a doctor’s office, a police station, a jail, a saloon, a restaurant, a barbershop, a tailor shop, a post office, and two schoolhouses. There are farms in the grassland and the flatland, a lake and a fisherman’s village in the flatland and the forest each, an oil well in the desert and the savanna each, and a rope wrestling arena in the savanna. The lakes in the flatland and the forest are called Lake Calf and Lake Horn, respectively.
The inhabitants of the island live in farmhouses. Many of the inhabitants live in smaller one-story farmhouses, and high-class families live in larger two-story farmhouses. For transportation, the inhabitants use horses and stagecoaches, though they are uncommon and are mostly owned by high-class Taurxans, and the majority of the inhabitants get around places in the island by walking.
