In 2090's California, a tenuous peacetime between humans and cryptids holds. Matt Marshall, a young centaur assistant to the Old-God turned tech-dev Dr. Hephaestus, witnesses a third branch blossom on the tree of life; the AI constructs created by the doctor's reluctant hands. A question hangs over the ICARIS campus; how will they change this world, and how might it change them...?
